Serenity Driving School FAQ’s
Can you tell me if Serenity Driving School is a certified driver training school in Maryland?
Although Serenity Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently certified to teach driver training courses in Maryland.  We recommend either calling Serenity Driving School directly or the Maryland DMV to find out whether or not Serenity Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training courses that are state-approved.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my driver training instead of a professional driver training school instructor like the ones they have at Serenity Driving School?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the Maryland DMV or a licensed driver training school like Serenity Driving School to find out if Maryland allows behind-the-wheel training with a parent.
What if I don't know how to drive a vehicle with a manual-shift? Does Serenity Driving School have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll allow me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a stick-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a manual or an automatic, you probably should call Serenity Driving School to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your signing up to take their driver training course.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will Serenity Driving School be able to teach me how to drive safely on rugged terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a rural area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like Serenity Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and other types of bumpy terrain.  You may wish to contact Serenity Driving School to find out exactly what their driver training course includes before signing up to take their training course.
Can I apply for my Maryland instruction permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the youngest age to obtain an instruction permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving instruction school like Serenity Driving School to learn more about the minimum age requirement in Maryland.
Can I take Serenity Driving School's driver training course before taking a Essex Maryland drivers education classroom course or online course?
It depends on what Maryland's laws say.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a drivers education classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on Maryland's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you contact Serenity Driving School directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
I am looking to sign up to take a Essex Maryland drivers education course. Can Serenity Driving School assist me with this?
Yes.  defensive driving courses are available in Essex Maryland through Serenity Driving School.  Please contact Serenity Driving School directly with questions regarding their schedule of classes and registration information.
What do I need to do to get a Maryland drivers license in Essex Maryland?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a safe driving classroom course and a driver training course.  Serenity Driving School may be able to help you meet the driver training portion in Maryland.  Please contact Serenity Driving School for more information.

Is hands-on driver training required in Maryland in order to be licensed to drive a car?
Absolutely.  All new drivers in Maryland are required to take an approved driver training course before they can be issued a license to independently operate a motor vehicle.
Is it all right if I sign up with a driver training school like Serenity Driving School prior to my obtaining my instruction permit?
In most states, you are required to have already gotten your instruction permit before you enroll in your driver training course like the one offered by Serenity Driving School.  We suggest you contact either Serenity Driving School to find out more information.
