Allied Driving School FAQ’s
Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-accredited by the California DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in California?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently certified to offer driving training courses in California.  We suggest you contact the California DMV to make sure a particular driving school is accredited before you enroll in their driver training course.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in California?
Each state has its own rules regarding driver training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised behind-the-wheel training as a substitute for enrolling in a behind-the-wheel training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the California DMV to find out for sure.
I don't know how to drive using a stick-shift. Will Allied Driving School have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my driver training?
Since you're enrolling in a Los Angeles California driver training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a stick-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let Allied Driving School know what your preference is before enrolling in their behind-the-wheel class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
Since I live way out in a rural area where driving on dirt roads and bumpy terrain is the norm, will Allied Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a non-urban environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in a remote location, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Allied Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on unpaved roads and bumpy terrain.  We recommend that you contact Allied Driving School directly to find out exactly what they offer.
Now that I'm 14, will California allow me to get a learner's permit to drive?
Not likely.  Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for a learner's permit.  We recommend that your contact the California DMV office or a California-approved driving school such as Allied Driving School to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in California.
I live in Los Angeles California. Does the law say I have to register for both a driver ed classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do mandate that new, teen-aged drivers successfully complete both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .
California's DMV has told me that I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course. Do you know if Allied Driving School offers this course or not?
Allied Driving School does offer the driver training course that California requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses Allied Driving School offers, we recommend that you contact Allied Driving School directly.
What do I need to do to get a California drivers license in Los Angeles California?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a safe driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Allied Driving School may be able to help you meet the behind-the-wheel training portion in California.  Please contact Allied Driving School for more information.

I live in Los Angeles California and would like to apply for my first driver's license. Do I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course before I can be licensed?
California law requires that all first-time drivers sign up for an approved behind-the-wheel training program before receiving their California driver's license.  Allied Driving School may offer a driver training course that you are looking for.  Please contact Allied Driving School directly for complete information as to what types of driver training courses they offer.
Is it possible to enroll in a California-approved driver training course before I obtain my California learners permit?
It depends on what the specific laws are in California, however most states require first-time drivers to receive a learners permit before registering for a driver training course.  We recommend you contact a driving school such as Allied Driving School to obtain more information.
