1st Choice Driving & Traffic School FAQ’s
Is 1st Choice Driving & Traffic School certified by the California DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
Although we include 1st Choice Driving & Traffic School in our directory of driving schools for Los Angeles California, we cannot make any assurances about whether or not 1st Choice Driving & Traffic School is certified by the California DMV.  You should contact 1st Choice Driving & Traffic School directly and ask them if you are thinking about enrolling in their Los Angeles California behind-the-wheel training class.
Do I have to take a driver training course? Can't my parents just give me my driver training?
There are some states that do allow parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for enrolling in a professionally-taught driver training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
What if I don't know how to operate a vehicle with a manual-shift? Does 1st Choice Driving & Traffic School have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll allow me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a manual-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a stick or an automatic, you probably should call 1st Choice Driving & Traffic School to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your enrolling in their driver training course.
What happens to those of us who live in a non-urban area? Will 1st Choice Driving & Traffic School include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other rugged?
If you live in a remote location, there is a high probability that a local driver training school like 1st Choice Driving & Traffic School will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular area.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to get my learner's permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a instruction permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as 1st Choice Driving & Traffic School or the California DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in California.
Do I have to take both a defensive driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Los Angeles California to get my California driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers enroll in a defensive driving classroom course and a driver training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like 1st Choice Driving & Traffic School and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
Does 1st Choice Driving & Traffic School provide a driver training course like the one that is required by the State of California? I need to enroll in one in order to obtain my driver license.
