Esse Driving School FAQ's

Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-accredited by the Minnesota DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Minnesota?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently certified to offer driving training courses in Minnesota.  We suggest you contact the Minnesota DMV to make sure a particular driving school is accredited before you enroll in their driving course.
I've been told that either of my parents can supervise my driver training, so I don't have to attend a Bloomington Minnesota driving school like Esse Driving School to fulfill my driver training requirement. Do you know if that's true or not?
You will need to contact the Minnesota DMV or a state-approved driver training school like Esse Driving School to find out.  Some states do allow parent-taught driving, but many states do not.
What if I don't know how to drive a manual-shift automobile? Does Esse Driving School have automatic-shift vehicles that I can drive when I do my driver training?
If you're taking a Bloomington Minnesota driver training class, chances are you don't know how to drive ANY vehicle yet-- manual or automatic.  However, if you prefer an automatic vehicle then you should tell Esse Driving School that prior to enrolling in the course in order to make sure they can accommodate you.
Since I live way out in a rural area where driving on unpaved roads and bumpy terrain is the norm, will Esse Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a non-urban environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in the country, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Esse Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and rugged terrain.  We recommend that you contact Esse Driving School directly to find out exactly what they offer.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in Minnesota?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the Minnesota Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as Esse Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Minnesota.
I live in Bloomington Minnesota. Does the law say I have to register for both a driver ed classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do mandate that new, teen-aged drivers take both a driver training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .
If I need to enroll in a Bloomington Minnesota driving school, can Esse Driving School help?

It depends on your state's laws, however in many states, teen-agers must complete both a safe driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Esse Driving School may offer an approved behind-the-wheel training course which you could take.  Please contact Esse Driving School for information regarding their available classes and how to go about signing up for them.
What does the law in Minnesota say about driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
