Asan Driving School FAQ’s
How do I know if Asan Driving School is certified by California's DMV to offer driver training courses?
While we do include Asan Driving School's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether Asan Driving School is certified by the State of California.  We recommend that you either contact Asan Driving School directly or possibly the California DMV to find out if Asan Driving School is a certified driver training school.
Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do allow parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for taking a professionally-taught driver training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
I can't drive a stick-shift. Will Asan Driving School allow me to complete my behind-the-wheel training on an automatic-shift vehicle?
We recommend that you contact Asan Driving School and ask them if you can do your driver training using a vehicle that has an automatic shift before signing up to take their driver training course.
I live in a small rural community, where there are a lot of small, unpaved roads. Will my driver training with Asan Driving School include learning how to drive in rural areas? Or do they just offer training for city driving?
Most local driving schools will likely want their students to know how to drive safely in the local area.  Therefore, chances are good that the behind-the-wheel training you receive from Asan Driving School will include handling dirt roads and mountain driving.
Now that I'm 14, will California allow me to get a learner's permit to drive?
Not likely.  Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for a learner's permit.  We recommend that your contact the California DMV office or a California-approved driver training institute such as Asan Driving School to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in California.
Do you know if the laws in California require new teen-aged drivers to take a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a driver ed classroom or online course?
The laws vary from state to state, but many states do require you to register for a behind-the-wheel training course with "hands-on" practice in addition to a driver ed classroom or online course.
Does Asan Driving School provide a driver training course like the one that is required by the State of California? I need to sign up for one in order to obtain my driver license.
Asan Driving School offers driver training courses which are approved by the California DMV.  You may want to contact Asan Driving School directly for more information about their courses and how to go about registering for one.
I live in San Jose California. What are the requirements for me to be able to get my first California driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of California, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Asan Driving School may offer courses which would fulfill the behind-the-wheel training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
Do I have to take a San Jose California driver training course in order to get a driver's license?
Yes.  All drivers in California must enroll in an approved driver training course in order to receive a driver's license.  Please contact Asan Driving School for information on the types of driver training courses they offer in San Jose California.
Can I register for a California driver training course prior to having my California learners permit?
Most states require pre-licensed drivers to hold a learners permit before being permitted to register for a driver training course.  You should contact a driving school like Asan Driving School and ask for more information.
