Kanor Driving School FAQ’s
Can you tell me if Kanor Driving School is a certified driving school in California?
Although Kanor Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently approved to teach driver training courses in California.  We recommend either calling Kanor Driving School directly or the California DMV to find out whether or not Kanor Driving School offers driver training courses that are state-approved.
Will the California DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly.  Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice as a substitute to taking a driver training course with a professional driving instructor.  You will need to contact the California DMV to find out if your driver training may be done by your parents in California.
I can't operate a manual-shift. Will Kanor Driving School allow me to complete my behind-the-wheel training on an automatic-shift vehicle?
We recommend that you contact Kanor Driving School and ask them if you can do your driver training using a vehicle that has an automatic shift before enrolling in their driver training course.
What happens to those of us who live in a non-urban area? Will Kanor Driving School include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other bumpy terrain?
If you live in a remote location, there is a high probability that a local driver training school like Kanor Driving School will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular area.
I just turned 14 years old. Am I eligible to apply for my instruction permit in California?
Probably not.  The minimum age requirement for holding a learners permit in most states is 15 1/2.  You should contact the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driver training institute such as Kanor Driving School to find out more information about the minimum age requirement in California.
Do I have to take both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Cypress California to get my California driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers enroll in a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like Kanor Driving School and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
California's DMV has told me that I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course. Do you know if Kanor Driving School offers this course or not?
Kanor Driving School does offer the behind-the-wheel training course that California requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses Kanor Driving School offers, we recommend that you contact Kanor Driving School directly.
Exactly what type of driver education do I need in Cypress California before I can get my California driver's license?
The prerequisites for getting a driver's licenses vary from state to state, however most states now require teen-agers who are looking to get their first driver's license to sign up to take a safe driving classroom course as well as a driver training course.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training company such as Kanor Driving School and ask if they offer a California-approved  behind-the-wheel training course which would satisfy California's driver's education requirements.
I live in Cypress California and would like to apply for my first driver's license. Do I need to take a driver training course before I can be licensed?
California law mandates that all new drivers enroll in an approved driver training program before receiving their California driver's license.  Kanor Driving School may offer a behind-the-wheel training course that you are looking for.  Please contact Kanor Driving School directly for complete information as to what types of driver training courses they offer.
Do I need to have my instruction permit before I register for a behind-the-wheel training course like the one that Kanor Driving School offers?
You will need to contact Kanor Driving School or the California DMV to find out if you are allowed to sign up with a driving school like Kanor Driving School before receiving your California instruction permit.
