Academy Of Driving Skills FAQ’s
How do I know if Academy of Driving Skills is licensed by Missouri's DMV to offer driver training courses?
While we do include Academy of Driving Skills's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether Academy of Driving Skills is certified by the State of Missouri.  We recommend that you either contact Academy of Driving Skills directly or possibly the Missouri DMV to find out if Academy of Driving Skills is a licensed driver training school.
Do you know if I can do my behind-the-wheel training with my mother or father instead of attending a driving school like Academy of Driving Skills?
Some states allow teen-agers to complete their driver training with their parents instead of attending a professional driver training school.  We recommend that you contact the Missouri DMV or Academy of Driving Skills directly to find out if Missouri allows parent-taught driver training.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if Academy of Driving Skills makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....manual OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call Academy of Driving Skills and let them know before you sign up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you'll know for certain whether Academy of Driving Skills will be able to accommodate you before you pay them any money.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will Academy of Driving Skills be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a rural area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like Academy of Driving Skills will want you to be able to drive safely on unpaved roads and other types of rugged terrain.  You may wish to contact Academy of Driving Skills to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before registering for their training course.
Are 14-year-olds allowed to obtain a instruction permit in Missouri?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the youngest age for which to hold an instruction permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the Missouri Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving instruction company like Academy of Driving Skills to find out what the minimum age for driving is in Missouri.
Do I have to take both a defensive driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course in St. Louis Missouri to get my Missouri driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers enroll in a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like Academy of Driving Skills and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
I'm required to take a defensive driving course in St. Louis Missouri. Do you know if Academy of Driving Skills offers behind-the-wheel training classes in St. Louis Missouri?
Yes, Academy of Driving Skills does offer defensive driving courses in St. Louis Missouri.  For more information about their class schedule and how/when to enroll in one of their driver training courses, please contact Academy of Driving Skills directly.
What steps do I have to take in order to get a Missouri drivers license in St. Louis Missouri?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course.  Academy of Driving Skills may be able to help you meet the behind-the-wheel training portion in Missouri.  Please contact Academy of Driving Skills for more information.

Is it necessary for me to sign up for a behind-the-wheel training course in order to get my first Missouri driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in Missouri are required to take a state-approved driver training course.
Will Missouri allow me to register for a driver training course before I actually get my instruction permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you obtain your learner's permit before you sign up with a behind-the-wheel training course.
