Rocky Mountain Driving Academy FAQ’s
Rocky Mountain Driving Academy's contact information is listed on your webpage. How can I find out if it is a licensed behind the wheel training school in Colorado?
Even though we provide a list of driver training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is licensed by the Colorado DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact Rocky Mountain Driving Academy directly or check with the Colorado DMV to find out for sure if Rocky Mountain Driving Academy is a licensed school.
Do I have to take a driver training course? Can't my parents just give me my driver training?
There are some states that do allow parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for taking a professionally-taught driver training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
Do I need to tell Rocky Mountain Driving Academy that I need to train with an automatic-shift car? I don't know how to drive a stick-shift vehicle.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a stick-shift OR and automatic-shift automobile!  We recommend that you ask Rocky Mountain Driving Academy if you can complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle before you register for their driver training course.
Since I live way out in a rural area where driving on dirt roads and rugged terrain is the norm, will Rocky Mountain Driving Academy be able to teach me how to drive in a rural environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in the country, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Rocky Mountain Driving Academy will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and bumpy terrain.  We recommend that you contact Rocky Mountain Driving Academy directly to find out exactly what they offer.
If I'm 14, can I get an instruction permit to drive in Colorado?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get a learner's permit.  We recommend that you contact the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as Rocky Mountain Driving Academy to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Colorado.
Do you know if the laws in Colorado require new teen-aged drivers to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a driver ed classroom or online course?
The laws vary from state to state, but many states do require you to take a behind-the-wheel training course with "hands-on" practice in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.
If I need to sign up to take a Rifle Colorado driver training program, can Rocky Mountain Driving Academy help?
Yes.  Rocky Mountain Driving Academy offers driving instruction in Rifle Colorado.  For more information about the type of driver training Rocky Mountain Driving Academy offers and the training schedule, you should contact them directly.
What steps do I have to take in order to get a Colorado drivers license in Rifle Colorado?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a safe driving classroom course and a driver training course.  Rocky Mountain Driving Academy may be able to help you fulfill the behind-the-wheel training portion in Colorado.  Please contact Rocky Mountain Driving Academy for more information.

Am I obligated to take a Rifle Colorado behind-the-wheel training course?
All drivers in Colorado are required to take a behind-the-wheel training course.  You should contact Rocky Mountain Driving Academy to learn more about the courses they offer.
Will Colorado allow me to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course before I actually get my learner's permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you receive your learner's permit before you sign up with a driver training course.
