Nighttime Driving Restrictions 10 p.m. –5:00 a.m. every day for the first 180 days of holding a license; Sunday-Thursday 11:00 pm- 5:00 am; Friday-Saturday 1:00 am-5:00 am until age 18, with exceptions for school, work and church- related functions
Certified Driving Hours 50 hours of supervised driving practice, 10 of which must be at night, with a certified driving instructor or licensed driver that is at least 25 years old or the individual's spouse that is at least 21 years of age. The Log of Supervised Driving Practice (documenting the 50 hours of practice driving completed) must be submitted at the time of application for driver's license.
Telecommunications Devices Drivers under the age of 18 are prohibited from using telecommunications devices (cell phones, texting, etc.) while operating a motor vehicle. The only exception is placing an emergency call to 9-1-1.
