  1. Once I receive my permit, how many times may I take my written and driving exam?

  1. How old do I have to be to take the drivers’ exam?

You must be at least 15 years old or a freshman in high school

  2. What will I need in order to take my DMV written exam?

If you are between 15 and 17 ½ you are required to have your Drivers’ Education Certificate and a certificate proving enrollment in Drivers Training.

If you are older than 17 ½ you will need only proof of legal US citizenship, social security card, the payment of $12 to the DMV.  There are additional forms and a parental consent form to be filled out while in attendance.  If you are over 18, you must comply with all that 17 ½ year olds must, except for the parental consent form.

  3. Do I have to wait any time in between exams?

If you fail your written exam, you must wait one week in order to  take it again.  If you fail your drivers’ exam, you must wait two weeks to take it again. Adults have no waiting time and may take the test the next day.

  4. Once I receive my permit, how many times may I take my written and driving exam?

You have 3 tries to complete the exam.

  5. Can I start driving before I get my permit?

Yes, there are student licenses available so that driving lessons may begin before the permit is received.  You must have a DMV licensed instructor with you.

  6. Can I drive alone with my permit?

No, there must be an adult of at least 25 years old in the car.

  7. Can anyone take this course?

Yes, as long as you are at least 15 years old or a freshman in high  school.

  8. Does your course offer everything I will need to complete my DMV requirements?

We offer the classroom version of the DMV requirement. We do not offer the behind-the-wheel potion of the DMV requirement.

  9. Why take this course from home?

High school students are busier than ever these days.  This online course can take some of the pressures off of your regular school coursework, since you are able to complete the whole course on your own time.  This may allow better focus on school coursework.  Parents can also enjoy supervising the quality of their teenagers learning experience.

  10. Will I need supervision while taking this course from home?

Supervision is required for the final exam.

  11. How long will it take for me to receive my coursework if I order the home workbook?

We will mail the book out on the same day that you order it, so long as your order is made before 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, using a credit card.
