Summary of Wyoming Graduated Licensing Law

Wyoming has a two stage licensing process for minors.
  1. Instruction Permit (at least age 15) We recommend our DriverEdToGo Video-to use during the Learner stage. Shows the parent how to teach collision-free driving habits and provides unique teaching tools (mirrors, checklists, videos, audio instruction series, etc.).
  2. Regular License (at least 16)

Requirements
Written test.

Instruction Permit for Restricted License
At least 14

Restrictions
Permit in immediate possession.

Accompanied by driver at least 1 year & at least 18, fit & capable of exercising control over the vehicle & occupying seat beside the driver.

 
Driver's License
At least 16

Requirements
Have held Instruction Permit minimum 10 days.

Restricted License
At least 14.

Must be approved by the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Restrictions
Drive only between 5:00 a.m. & 8:00 p.m.

Within 50 mile radius of domicile.

Only at direction of parent or guardian.
