Will the Texas DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly. Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice in place of taking a behind-the-wheel driving course with a professional driving instructor. You will need to contact the Texas DMV to find out if your driver training may be done by your parents in Texas.
What happens if I don't know how to drive a stick-shift vehicle? Will Texas Driving School allow me to do my behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle?
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about driving any type of vehicle--stick-shift or automatic-shift! However, if you prefer to complete your driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle, you should contact Texas Driving School and inform them before you register for their behind-the-wheel training course. That way you will know for certain if they will accommodate you.
Since I live way out in a remote location where driving on unpaved roads and bumpy terrain is the norm, will Texas Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a non-urban environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?

Most likely, no. Most states (though not all) have laws which require that you be at least 15 or 15 1/2 before to be eligible to apply for an instruction permit. Nevertheless, you may wish to contact the Texas DMV office or a Texas-certified driving school such as Texas Driving School to find out for certain what the minimum driving age is in your local area.
