Vista Ridge Driving School FAQ’s
Vista Ridge Driving School is listed on your website as a driving school which offers driver training courses. How do I know if Vista Ridge Driving School is a certified school in Texas?
While we include a list of driving schools on our website for your convenience, we cannot guarantee that every single one of them is currently licensed by the Texas DMV.  We suggest you contact Vista Ridge Driving School directly or the Texas DMV to find out if Vista Ridge Driving School is a fully-accredited driving school.
Could I just have my mother or father teach me how to drive instead of paying money to take a professional driver training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which permit you to complete your hands-on driver training with a parent or guardian instead of enrolling in a professional driving school.  However many states require that new drivers take a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you ask your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
What if I don't know how to drive a vehicle with a manual-shift? Does Vista Ridge Driving School have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll allow me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a manual-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a manual or an automatic, you probably should call Vista Ridge Driving School to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your enrolling in their driver training course.
I live in a very rural area, where there are mountains and a lot of dirt roads. Do you know if Vista Ridge Driving School teaches students how to drive in rural areas like where I live instead of just driving on smooth, paved roads in urban areas?
Since you live in a rural area, a local driving school such as Vista Ridge Driving School will tailor your driver training to handle the conditions in your area.
If I'm 14, can I get an instruction permit to drive in Texas?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as Vista Ridge Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Texas.
Will I be required to sign up for both a drivers education classroom or online course and a driver training course in Flower Mound Texas?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now mandate new teen-aged drivers to successfully complete both a drivers education course as well as a driver training course.
Texas's DMV has told me that I need to take a driver training course. Do you know if Vista Ridge Driving School offers this course or not?
Vista Ridge Driving School does offer the behind-the-wheel training course that Texas requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses Vista Ridge Driving School offers, we recommend that you contact Vista Ridge Driving School directly.
What type of driver ed do I need before Texas will give me a driver's license?
Each state has its own requirements concerning drivers education, although you should know that most states now mandate all new, young drivers to enroll in a safe driving classroom or online course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.  Vista Ridge Driving School may be able to help you fulfill the driver training requirement in Texas.  Please contact either Vista Ridge Driving School or the Texas DMV for more information.
Is a behind-the-wheel training course a prerequisite in Flower Mound Texas for me to get a drivers license?
The law in Texas requires that all drivers complete a driver training program as part of their driver education.  You should contact Vista Ridge Driving School directly to find out about the types of courses they offer.
Is it all right if I sign up with a behind-the-wheel training school like Vista Ridge Driving School prior to my obtaining my learner's permit?
In most states, you are required to have already received your learner's permit before you sign up to take your behind-the-wheel training course like the one offered by Vista Ridge Driving School.  We suggest you contact either Vista Ridge Driving School to find out more information.
