Teen & Adult Driving School FAQ’s
Is Teen & Adult Driving School licensed by the Texas DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
Although we include Teen & Adult Driving School in our directory of driving schools for Houston Texas, we cannot make any assurances about whether or not Teen & Adult Driving School is certified by the Texas DMV.  You should contact Teen & Adult Driving School directly and ask them if you are thinking about signing up to take their Houston Texas driver training class.
Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my driver training?
There are some states that do allow parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for taking a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
What if I don't know how to operate a vehicle with a manual-shift? Does Teen & Adult Driving School have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll let me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a stick-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a stick or an automatic, you probably should call Teen & Adult Driving School to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your enrolling in their driver training course.
Since I live way out in the country where driving on unpaved roads and bumpy terrain is the norm, will Teen & Adult Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a non-urban environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in a remote location, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Teen & Adult Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and bumpy terrain.  We recommend that you contact Teen & Adult Driving School directly to find out exactly what they offer.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in Texas?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as Teen & Adult Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Texas.
Do you know if the laws in Texas require new teen-aged drivers to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course?
The laws vary from state to state, but many states do require you to register for a behind-the-wheel training course with "hands-on" practice in addition to a driver ed classroom or online course.
I'm required to take a behind-the-wheel training course in Houston Texas. Do you know if Teen & Adult Driving School offers defensive driving classes in Houston Texas?
Yes, Teen & Adult Driving School does offer driver training courses in Houston Texas.  For more information about their class schedule and how/when to enroll in one of their driver training courses, please contact Teen & Adult Driving School directly.
Exactly what type of driver education do I need in Houston Texas before I can get my Texas driver's license?
The prerequisites for getting a driver's licenses vary from state to state, however most states now require teen-agers who are looking to get their first driver's license to complete a safe driving classroom course as well as a driver training course.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training company such as Teen & Adult Driving School and ask if they offer a Texas-approved  behind-the-wheel training course which would meet Texas's driver's education requirements.
Is hands-on driver training required in Texas in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle?
Absolutely.  All new drivers in Texas are required to take an approved behind-the-wheel training course before they can be issued a license to independently operate a motor vehicle.
Is it all right if I register with a behind-the-wheel training school like Teen & Adult Driving School prior to my obtaining my learner's permit?
In most states, you are required to have already received your instruction permit before you register for your behind-the-wheel training course like the one offered by Teen & Adult Driving School.  We suggest you contact either Teen & Adult Driving School to find out more information.
