Lubbock Driving School FAQ’s
Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-licensed by the Texas DMV to offer driver training courses in Texas?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently licensed to offer driving training courses in Texas.  We suggest you contact the Texas DMV to make sure a particular driving school is accredited before you register for their driver training course.
Could I just have my mother or father give me my behind-the-wheel training instead of paying money to take a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which allow you to complete your behind-the-wheel training with a parent or guardian instead of enrolling in a professional driving school.  However many states require that new drivers take a professionally-taught driver training course.  We recommend that you ask your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
Do I need to tell Lubbock Driving School that I need to train with an automatic-shift automobile? I don't know how to operate a manual-shift car.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a stick-shift OR and automatic-shift automobile!  We recommend that you ask Lubbock Driving School if you can complete your driver training using an automatic-shift car before you enroll in their driver training course.
What happens to those of us who live in a remote area? Will Lubbock Driving School include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other bumpy terrain?
If you live in a remote location, there is a high probability that a local driving school like Lubbock Driving School will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular area.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in Texas?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get a learner's permit.  We recommend that you contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as Lubbock Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Texas.
Can I take Lubbock Driving School's behind-the-wheel training course before taking a Lubbock Texas defensive driving classroom course or online course?
It depends on what Texas's laws prescribe.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a defensive driving classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on Texas's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you contact Lubbock Driving School directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
I have to take a defensive driving course in Lubbock Texas. Can I meet this requirement by enrolling in Lubbock Driving School?
Yes, Lubbock Driving School offers defensive driving courses in Lubbock Texas.  You will need to contact Lubbock Driving School directly to get more information on the types of courses they offer and when to register for a class.
What are the requirements in Lubbock Texas for obtaining a drivers license?
It depends on your state's laws, however in many states, teen-agers must complete both a safe driving classroom course and a driver training course.  Lubbock Driving School may offer an approved driver training course which you could take.  Please contact Lubbock Driving School for information regarding their available classes and how to go about signing up for them.
Am I required to take a Lubbock Texas behind-the-wheel training course?
All drivers in Texas are required to take a driver training course.  You should contact Lubbock Driving School to learn more about the courses they offer.
Can I enroll in a Texas-approved driver training course even if I don't have my Texas instruction permit yet?
Most likely, no.  Most states have laws that mandate a pre-licensed driver to have obtained a Texas learners permit before registering in a Texas behind-the-wheel training course.  It would be best for you to contact a driving school such as Lubbock Driving School and ask for more information.
