Omega Driving School FAQ’s
Omega Driving School's contact information is listed on your webpage. How can I find out if it is a licensed driver training school in Texas?
Even though we provide a list of behind-the-wheel training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is certified by the Texas DMV to offer driver training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact Omega Driving School directly or check with the Texas DMV to find out for sure if Omega Driving School is a licensed school.
Do I have to take a driver training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do permit parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for taking a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
What if I don't know how to operate a vehicle with a manual-shift? Does Omega Driving School have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll let me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a manual-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a manual or an automatic, you probably should call Omega Driving School to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your signing up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.
I live in a very rural area, where there are mountains and a lot of dirt roads. Do you know if Omega Driving School offers training for driving in rural areas like where I live instead of just driving on smooth, paved roads in city areas?
Since you live in a rural area, a local driving school such as Omega Driving School will tailor your driver training to handle the conditions in your area.
Can I get my Texas learner's permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the minimum age to obtain an instruction permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driver training school like Omega Driving School to learn more about the minimum age requirement in Texas.
Do I have to take both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Quitman Texas to get my Texas driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers register for a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like Omega Driving School and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
Does Omega Driving School provide a behind-the-wheel training course like the one that is required by the State of Texas? I need to enroll in one in order to obtain my driver license.
Omega Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training courses which are approved by the Texas DMV.  You may want to contact Omega Driving School directly for more information about their courses and how to go about registering for one.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a Texas driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to sign up to take both a driver training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the Texas DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to meet in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Is hands-on driver training required in Texas in order to be licensed to drive a car?
Absolutely.  All new drivers in Texas are required to take an approved hands-on driver training course before they can get a license to independently operate a motor vehicle.
Will Texas allow me to enroll in a driver training course before I actually receive my instruction permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you obtain your learner's permit before you register with a driver training course.
