Texas Driving School FAQ’s
Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-certified by the Texas DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Texas?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently certified to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Texas.  We suggest you contact the Texas DMV to make sure a particular driver training school is certified before you enroll in their driving course.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my driver training instead of a professional driving school instructor like the ones they have at Texas Driving School?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the Texas DMV or a licensed driving school like Texas Driving School to find out if Texas allows driver training with a parent.
I don't know how to drive using a stick-shift. Will Texas Driving School have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my behind-the-wheel training?
Since you're enrolling in a San Antonio Texas driver training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a manual-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let Texas Driving School know what your preference is before signing up to take their driver class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will Texas Driving School be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like Texas Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and other types of rugged terrain.  You may wish to contact Texas Driving School to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before enrolling in their training course.
Can 14-year-olds obtain learner's permits to drive in Texas?
Most states have set the minimum age for applying for a learner's permit at 15 or 15 1/2.  However, some states do allow 14-year-olds to obtain a learner's permit.  You may want to contact the Texas DMV or a Texas-approved driver training school like Texas Driving School to find out what the minimum age to drive is in Texas.
Am I required to take a San Antonio Texas classroom or online drivers education course before I can sign up to take a driver training course through Texas Driving School?
This requirement varies from state to state but most states do mandate pre-licensed drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based defensive driving course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a driver training course.  You should ask Texas Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
I have to register for a driver training class in San Antonio Texas before Texas will give me my driver's license. Does Texas Driving School offer this type of course?
Texas Driving School does offer the behind-the-wheel training course in San Antonio Texas that is required by the State of Texas.  You will need to contact Texas Driving School directly for more information about the driver courses they offer and their class schedules.
I live in San Antonio Texas. What requirements must I meet to be able to get my first Texas driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of Texas, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a safe driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Texas Driving School may offer courses which would fulfill the behind-the-wheel training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
Do I have to take a San Antonio Texas driver training course in order to get a driver's license?
Yes.  All drivers in Texas must successfully complete an approved driver training course in order to receive a driver's license.  Please contact Texas Driving School for information on the types of driver training courses they offer in San Antonio Texas.
Is it all right if I sign up with a driver training school like Texas Driving School prior to my obtaining my learner's permit?
In most states, you are required to have already gotten your learner's permit before you sign up to take your behind-the-wheel training course like the one offered by Texas Driving School.  We suggest you contact either Texas Driving School to find out more information.
