Fort Bend Driving School, Inc. FAQ’s
Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-licensed by the Texas DMV to offer driver training courses in Texas?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently accredited to offer driving training courses in Texas.  We suggest you contact the Texas DMV to make sure a particular driving school is accredited before you sign up to take their driver training course.
Do you know if I can complete my driver training with my mother or father instead of attending a behind-the-wheel training course like the ones offered by Fort Bend Driving School, Inc.?
Some states allow teen-agers to do their driver training with their parents instead of attending a professional driving school.  We recommend that you contact the Texas DMV or Fort Bend Driving School, Inc. directly to find out if Texas allows parent-taught behind-the-wheel training.
I can't operate a manual-shift. Will Fort Bend Driving School, Inc. allow me to complete my behind-the-wheel training on an automatic-shift vehicle?
We recommend that you contact Fort Bend Driving School, Inc. and ask them if you can do your driver training using a vehicle that has an automatic shift before enrolling in their behind-the-wheel training course.
I live in a very rural area, where there are mountains and a lot of unpaved roads. Do you know if Fort Bend Driving School, Inc. offers training for driving in rural areas like where I live instead of just driving on smooth, paved roads in city areas?
Since you live in a remote area, a local driving school such as Fort Bend Driving School, Inc. will tailor your driver training to handle the conditions in your area.
Are 14-year-olds eligible to apply for a learner's permit in Texas?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the youngest age for which to hold a learner's permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving instruction company like Fort Bend Driving School, Inc. to find out what the minimum age for driving is in Texas.
Can I take Fort Bend Driving School, Inc.'s driver training course before taking a Sugar Land Texas defensive driving classroom course or online course?
It depends on what Texas's laws prescribe.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a drivers education classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on Texas's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you contact Fort Bend Driving School, Inc. directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
If I need to sign up to take a Sugar Land Texas driver training program, can Fort Bend Driving School, Inc. help?
Yes.  Fort Bend Driving School, Inc. offers driving courses in Sugar Land Texas.  For more information about the type of driver training Fort Bend Driving School, Inc. offers and the training schedule, you should contact them directly.
What type of driver ed do I need before Texas will give me a driver's license?
Each state has its own requirements concerning drivers education, although you should know that most states now mandate all new, young drivers to sign up to take a drivers education classroom or online course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.  Fort Bend Driving School, Inc. may be able to help you fulfill the behind-the-wheel training requirement in Texas.  Please contact either Fort Bend Driving School, Inc. or the Texas DMV for more information.
Is hands-on driver training required in Texas in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle?
Absolutely.  All new drivers in Texas are required to take an approved hands-on driver training course before they can get a license to independently operate a motor vehicle.
Is it okay for me to sign up to take a behind-the-wheel training class in Texas before I receive my Texas instruction permit to drive?
Probably not.  Most states require first-time drivers to have their instruction permit before they are allowed to sign up to take a driver training program.  You should contact a driving school like Fort Bend Driving School, Inc. and request more information.
