A-Orland Driving School, Inc. FAQ’s
Is A-Orland Driving School, Inc. a licensed driving school in Illinois?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer driver training courses in Illinois.  We highly recommend that you contact A-Orland Driving School, Inc. directly or the Illinois DMV to find out for sure if A-Orland Driving School, Inc. offers behind-the-wheel training courses that have been approved by the State of Illinois.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in Illinois?
Each state has its own rules regarding behind-the-wheel training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised driver training as a substitute for taking a behind-the-wheel training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the Illinois DMV to find out for sure.
Do you know if A-Orland Driving School, Inc. will let me take my driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a stick-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a manual OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact A-Orland Driving School, Inc. and see if they can accommodate you before registering for their driver training course.
I don't live anywhere near a city. There are unpaved roads and bumpy terrain all around my house. How do I know if A-Orland Driving School, Inc. will train me on how to drive in a remote area like where I live and not just teach me how to drive in a town-or city-type environment?
Since A-Orland Driving School, Inc. is a local driver training company in your area, it's a safe bet that A-Orland Driving School, Inc. will be motivated (or perhaps required) to teach its local customers how to drive on bumpy terrain.  If you want to make certain, however, you may want to call A-Orland Driving School, Inc. to find out exactly what's included in their behind-the-wheel training course before you register with them.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to obtain my learner's permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a learner's permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as A-Orland Driving School, Inc. or the Illinois DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Illinois.
Am I required to take a Orland Park Illinois classroom or online drivers education course before I can sign up to take a driver training course through A-Orland Driving School, Inc.?
This requirement varies by state but most states do mandate new teen-aged drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based defensive driving course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a behind-the-wheel training course.  You should ask A-Orland Driving School, Inc. if they offer one or both programs.
Illinois law says that I must sign up to take a behind-the-wheel training course in order to get licensed to drive in Orland Park Illinois. Is this something that A-Orland Driving School, Inc. can help me with?
Yes, A-Orland Driving School, Inc. offers the Illinois-approved driver training course.  For more information about their classes and instruction schedule, please contact A-Orland Driving School, Inc. directly.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a Illinois driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to sign up to take both a driver training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the Illinois DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to fulfill in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Is there a law in Illinois that says I have to take behind-the-wheel training in order to get my driver's license?
Yes.  State law in Illinois mandates that all teen-agers take an approved driver training course before receiving a Illinois driver's license.
Can I sign up to take a Illinois-licensed driver training course even if I don't have my Illinois learners permit yet?
Most likely, no.  Most states have laws that mandate a pre-licensed driver to have obtained a Illinois learners permit before registering in a Illinois driver training course.  It would be best for you to contact a driving school such as A-Orland Driving School, Inc. and ask for more information.
