Pacific Driving School FAQ’s
Is Pacific Driving School a licensed driving school in Illinois?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Illinois.  We highly recommend that you contact Pacific Driving School directly or the Illinois DMV to find out for sure if Pacific Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training courses that have been approved by the State of Illinois.
I've been told that either of my parents can supervise my driver training, so I don't have to attend a Cicero Illinois driving school like Pacific Driving School to fulfill my behind-the-wheel training requirement. Do you know if that's true or not?
You will need to contact the Illinois DMV or a state-approved driving school like Pacific Driving School to find out.  Some states do allow parent-taught driving, but many states do not.
What if I don't know how to drive a stick-shift automobile? Does Pacific Driving School have automatic-shift vehicles that I can drive when I do my behind-the-wheel training?
If you're taking a Cicero Illinois driver training class, chances are you don't know how to drive ANY vehicle yet-- manual or automatic.  However, if you prefer an automatic vehicle then you should tell Pacific Driving School that prior to registering for the course in order to make sure they can accommodate you.
Since I live way out in a remote location where driving on dirt roads and rugged terrain is the norm, will Pacific Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a non-urban environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in a remote location, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Pacific Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and rugged terrain.  We recommend that you contact Pacific Driving School directly to find out exactly what they offer.
Now that I'm 14, will Illinois allow me to get a learner's permit to drive?
Not likely.  Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for an instruction permit.  We recommend that your contact the Illinois DMV office or a Illinois-approved driving school such as Pacific Driving School to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in Illinois.
Do I have to complete a Cicero Illinois drivers education classroom course or online course before enrolling in one of Pacific Driving School's behind-the-wheel training courses?
Each state has its own laws, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a driver training course plus either a drivers education classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online defensive driving course.  You may want to ask Pacific Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
I have to take a defensive driving course in Cicero Illinois. Can I meet this requirement by signing up with Pacific Driving School?
Yes, Pacific Driving School offers defensive driving courses in Cicero Illinois.  You will need to contact Pacific Driving School directly to get more information on the types of courses they offer and when to register for a class.
What type of driver ed do I need before Illinois will give me a driver's license?
Each state has its own requirements concerning drivers education, although you should know that most states now require all new, young drivers to enroll in a safe driving classroom or online course as well as a driver training course.  Pacific Driving School may be able to help you fulfill the driver training requirement in Illinois.  Please contact either Pacific Driving School or the Illinois DMV for more information.
Is a behind-the-wheel training course required in Cicero Illinois for me to get a drivers license?
The law in Illinois requires that all drivers complete a behind-the-wheel training course as part of their driver education.  You should contact Pacific Driving School directly to find out about the types of courses they offer.
Is it okay for me to enroll in a driver training class in Illinois before I receive my Illinois learners permit to drive?
Probably not.  Most states require first-time drivers to have their learners permit before they are allowed to enroll in a driver training program.  You should contact a driving school like Pacific Driving School and request more information.
