AA Driving School FAQ’s
Is AA Driving School licensed by the Maryland DMV to offer driver training courses?
Although we include AA Driving School in our directory of driving schools for Silver Spring Maryland, we cannot make any assurances about whether or not AA Driving School is certified by the Maryland DMV.  You should contact AA Driving School directly and ask them if you are thinking about enrolling in their Silver Spring Maryland behind-the-wheel training class.
I've been told that either of my parents can supervise my behind-the-wheel training, so I don't have to attend a Silver Spring Maryland driving school like AA Driving School to fulfill my driver training requirement. Do you know if that's true or not?
You will need to contact the Maryland DMV or a state-approved driving school like AA Driving School to find out.  Some states do allow parent-taught driving, but many states do not.
Do I need to tell AA Driving School that I need to train with an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know how to drive a manual-shift car.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a manual-shift OR and automatic-shift automobile!  We recommend that you ask AA Driving School if you can complete your driver training using an automatic-shift car before you enroll in their driver training course.
I live in a remote area, that has a lot of dirt roads and bumpy terrain. Will AA Driving School train me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a remote area, chances are very good that a local driving school like AA Driving School will want you to be taught how to drive safely on the local area's terrain.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in Maryland?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as AA Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Maryland.
Do I have to complete a Silver Spring Maryland drivers education classroom course or online course before registering for one of AA Driving School's behind-the-wheel training courses?
Each state has its own rules, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online defensive driving course.  You may want to ask AA Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
I have to register for a driver training class in Silver Spring Maryland before Maryland will give me my driver's license. Does AA Driving School offer this type of course?
AA Driving School does offer the behind-the-wheel training course in Silver Spring Maryland that is required by the State of Maryland.  You will need to contact AA Driving School directly for more information about the driver courses they offer and their class schedules.
What do I need to do to get a driver's license in Silver Spring Maryland?
It depends on Maryland's laws, but most states require new, teen-aged drivers to enroll in a safe driving classroom course as well as a driver training course.  You may want to call AA Driving School to see if they offer the behind-the-wheel training course that would fulfill the regulations set forth by the Maryland DMV.
Am I obligated to take a Silver Spring Maryland behind-the-wheel training course?
All drivers in Maryland must take a driver training course.  You should contact AA Driving School to learn more about the courses they offer.
Is it possible to sign up to take a Maryland-approved behind-the-wheel training course before I obtain my Maryland learners permit?
It depends on what the specific laws are in Maryland, however most states require first-time drivers to receive a instruction permit before registering for a behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend you contact a driving school such as AA Driving School to obtain more information.
