Community Driving School FAQ’s
Since Community Driving School is listed on your website, does this mean they are approved by the Missouri DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
The list of driver training schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only.  We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-approved by the Missouri DMV.  You may want to call Community Driving School directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
Could I just have my mother or father teach me how to drive instead of paying money to enroll in a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which permit you to do your behind-the-wheel training with a parent or guardian instead of enrolling in a professional driving school.  However many states require that first-time drivers take a professionally-taught driver training course.  We recommend that you ask your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
What if I don't know how to drive a manual-shift automobile? Does Community Driving School have automatic-shift vehicles that I can drive when I do my driver training?
If you're taking a St. Louis Missouri driver training class, chances are you don't know how to drive ANY vehicle yet-- manual or automatic.  However, if you prefer an automatic vehicle then you should tell Community Driving School that prior to registering for the course in order to make sure they can accommodate you.
What happens to those of us who live in a non-urban area? Will Community Driving School include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other bumpy terrain?
If you live in a remote location, there is a high probability that a local driving school like Community Driving School will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular locale.
I just turned 14 years old. Am I eligible to receive my instruction permit in Missouri?
Probably not.  The minimum age requirement for holding a learners permit in most states is 15 1/2.  You should contact the Missouri Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driver training institute such as Community Driving School to find out more information about the minimum age requirement in Missouri.
Do I have to take both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course in St. Louis Missouri to get my Missouri driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers register for a defensive driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like Community Driving School and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
If I need to sign up to take a St. Louis Missouri behind-the-wheel training program, can Community Driving School help?
Yes.  Community Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training courses in St. Louis Missouri.  For more information about the type of behind-the-wheel training Community Driving School offers and the training schedule, you should contact them directly.
What steps do I have to take in order to get a Missouri drivers license in St. Louis Missouri?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Community Driving School may be able to help you meet the driver training portion in Missouri.  Please contact Community Driving School for more information.

Is it necessary for me to sign up for a driver training course in order to get my first Missouri driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in Missouri are required to take a state-approved driver training course.
Is it all right if I register with a driver training school like Community Driving School prior to my obtaining my learner's permit?
In most states, you are required to have already received your instruction permit before you enroll in your behind-the-wheel training course like the one offered by Community Driving School.  We suggest you contact either Community Driving School to find out more information.
