Rules Of The Road Driving School FAQ’s
Is Rules of the Road Driving School a licensed driving school in Missouri?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Missouri.  We highly recommend that you contact Rules of the Road Driving School directly or the Missouri DMV to find out for sure if Rules of the Road Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training courses that have been approved by the State of Missouri.
Could I just have my mother or father teach me how to drive instead of paying money to enroll in a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which allow you to do your behind-the-wheel training with a parent or guardian instead of attending a professional driving school.  However many states require that first-time drivers take a professionally-taught driver training course.  We recommend that you ask your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
Do you know if Rules of the Road Driving School will let me complete my driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a stick-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a stick OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact Rules of the Road Driving School and see if they can accommodate you before signing up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads all around. Will Rules of the Road Driving School train me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain community, chances are that a local driving instruction institute like Rules of the Road Driving School will include driving lessons specifically tailored to that terrain.
If I'm 14, can I get an instruction permit to drive in Missouri?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the Missouri Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as Rules of the Road Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Missouri.
Will I be required to register for both a drivers education classroom or online course and a driver training course in St. Louis Missouri?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now require new teen-aged drivers to enroll in both a drivers education course as well as a driver training course.
I am looking to register for a St. Louis Missouri behind-the-wheel training course. Can Rules of the Road Driving School assist me with this?
Yes.  defensive driving courses are available in St. Louis Missouri through Rules of the Road Driving School.  Please contact Rules of the Road Driving School directly with questions regarding their schedule of classes and registration information.
Exactly what type of driver education do I need in St. Louis Missouri before I can get my Missouri driver's license?
The prerequisites for getting a driver's licenses vary from state to state, however most states now require teen-agers who are looking to get their first driver's license to enroll in a safe driving classroom course as well as a driver training course.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training company such as Rules of the Road Driving School and ask if they offer a Missouri-approved  behind-the-wheel training course which would satisfy Missouri's driver's education requirements.
I live in St. Louis Missouri and would like to apply for my first driver's license. Do I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course before I can be licensed?
Missouri law requires that all new drivers enroll in an approved behind-the-wheel training program before receiving their Missouri driver's license.  Rules of the Road Driving School may offer a driver training course that you are looking for.  Please contact Rules of the Road Driving School directly for complete information as to what types of driver training courses they offer.
Is it possible to sign up to take a Missouri-approved driver training course before I obtain my Missouri learners permit?
It depends on what the specific laws are in Missouri, however most states require first-time drivers to receive an instruction permit before signing up for a behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend you contact a driving school such as Rules of the Road Driving School to obtain more information.
