Andes Driving School FAQ’s
How do I know if Andes Driving School is certified by North Carolina's DMV to offer driver training courses?
While we do include Andes Driving School's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether Andes Driving School is licensed by the State of North Carolina.  We recommend that you either contact Andes Driving School directly or possibly the North Carolina DMV to find out if Andes Driving School is a certified driver training school.
I've been told that either of my parents can supervise my driver training, so I don't have to attend a Durham North Carolina driving school like Andes Driving School to fulfill my behind-the-wheel training requirement. Do you know if that's true or not?
You will need to contact the North Carolina DMV or a state-approved driving school like Andes Driving School to find out.  Some states do allow parent-taught driving, but many states do not.
I can't operate a stick-shift. Will Andes Driving School allow me to complete my behind-the-wheel training on an automatic-shift vehicle?
We recommend that you contact Andes Driving School and ask them if you can do your behind-the-wheel training using a vehicle that has an automatic shift before registering for their driver training course.
I live in a remote area, that has a lot of dirt roads and rugged terrain. Will Andes Driving School teach me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a remote area, chances are very good that a local driver training school like Andes Driving School will want you to be taught how to drive safely on the local area's terrain.
Now that I'm 14, will North Carolina allow me to get a learner's permit to drive?
Not likely.  Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for a learner's permit.  We recommend that your contact the North Carolina DMV office or a North Carolina-approved driving school such as Andes Driving School to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in North Carolina.
Do I have to take both a defensive driving classroom course and a driver training course in Durham North Carolina to get my North Carolina driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers enroll in a defensive driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like Andes Driving School and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
I am looking to sign up to take a Durham North Carolina defensive driving course. Can Andes Driving School assist me with this?
Yes.  Drivers education courses are available in Durham North Carolina through Andes Driving School.  Please contact Andes Driving School directly with questions regarding their schedule of classes and registration information.
What are the requirements in Durham North Carolina for obtaining a drivers license?
It depends on your state's laws, however in many states, teen-agers must complete both a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course.  Andes Driving School may offer an approved behind-the-wheel training course which you could take.  Please contact Andes Driving School for information regarding their available classes and how to go about registering for them.
Is there a law in North Carolina that says I have to take driver training in order to get my driver's license?
Yes.  State law in North Carolina mandates that all teen-agers take an approved driver training course before receiving a North Carolina driver's license.
Is it possible to sign up to take a North Carolina-approved behind-the-wheel training course before I obtain my North Carolina learners permit?
It depends on what the specific laws are in North Carolina, however most states require first-time drivers to receive a learners permit before registering for a driver training course.  We recommend you contact a driving school such as Andes Driving School to obtain more information.
