Can you tell me if Global Defensive Driving is a licensed driving school in New York?

I've been told that either of my parents can monitor my driver training, so I don't have to attend a Syracuse New York driving school like Global Defensive Driving to fulfill my behind-the-wheel training requirement. Do you know if that's true or not?

Since I live way out in a rural area where driving on unpaved roads and rugged terrain is the norm, will Global Defensive Driving be able to teach me how to drive in a rural environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?

If I'm 14, can I get an instruction permit to drive in New York?
