CJ's Driver Training Center FAQ’s
CJ's Driver Training Center is listed on your website as a driving school which offers driver training courses. How do I know if CJ's Driver Training Center is a licensed school in Illinois?
While we include a list of driver training schools on our website for your convenience, we cannot guarantee that every single one of them is currently licensed by the Illinois DMV.  We suggest you contact CJ's Driver Training Center directly or the Illinois DMV to find out if CJ's Driver Training Center is a fully-accredited driver training school.
Do you know if I can do my behind-the-wheel training with my mother or father instead of attending a driving school like CJ's Driver Training Center?
Some states allow teen-agers to complete their driver training with their parents instead of attending a professional driving school.  We recommend that you contact the Illinois DMV or CJ's Driver Training Center directly to find out if Illinois allows parent-taught behind-the-wheel training.
What if I don't know how to operate a vehicle with a stick-shift? Does CJ's Driver Training Center have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll let me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a stick-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a stick or an automatic, you probably should call CJ's Driver Training Center to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your enrolling in their behind-the-wheel training course.
I live in a remote area, that has a lot of dirt roads and bumpy terrain. Will CJ's Driver Training Center train me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a remote area, chances are very good that a local driving school like CJ's Driver Training Center will want you to be trained in driving specific to the local area's terrain.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to obtain my learner's permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a instruction permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as CJ's Driver Training Center or the Illinois DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Illinois.
Can I take CJ's Driver Training Center's behind-the-wheel training course before taking a Assumption Illinois defensive driving classroom course or online course?
It depends on what Illinois's laws say.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a defensive driving classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on Illinois's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved driver training course.  We recommend that you contact CJ's Driver Training Center directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
Illinois's DMV has told me that I need to take a driver training course. Do you know if CJ's Driver Training Center offers this course or not?
CJ's Driver Training Center does offer the behind-the-wheel training course that Illinois requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses CJ's Driver Training Center offers, we recommend that you contact CJ's Driver Training Center directly.
Exactly what type of driver training do I need in Assumption Illinois before I can get my Illinois driver's license?
The prerequisites for getting a driver's licenses vary from state to state, however most states now require teen-agers who are looking to get their first driver's license to sign up to take a safe driving classroom course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training company such as CJ's Driver Training Center and ask if they offer a Illinois-approved  behind-the-wheel training course which would fulfill Illinois's driver's education requirements.
What does the law in Illinois say about driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
Yes, you do.  Illinois law states that new drivers enroll in an approved driver training course as a prerequisite to getting their first driver's license.
Can I enroll in a Illinois driver training course prior to having my Illinois learners permit?
Most states require pre-licensed drivers to hold a learners permit before being permitted to sign up to take a behind-the-wheel training course.  You should contact a driving school like CJ's Driver Training Center and ask for more information.
