Crystal Coast Driving School FAQ’s
Can you tell me if Crystal Coast Driving School is a licensed driving school in North Carolina?
Although Crystal Coast Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently approved to teach behind-the-wheel training courses in North Carolina.  We recommend either calling Crystal Coast Driving School directly or the North Carolina DMV to find out whether or not Crystal Coast Driving School offers driver training courses that are state-approved.
Do I have to take a driver training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do permit parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for attending a professionally-taught driver training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding hands-on driving instruction.
Do you know if Crystal Coast Driving School will let me take my behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a manual-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a stick OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact Crystal Coast Driving School and see if they can accommodate you before registering for their behind-the-wheel training course.
I live in a small mountain town, where there are a lot of small, unpaved roads. Will my driver training with Crystal Coast Driving School include learning how to drive in rural areas? Or do they just offer training for urban driving?
Most local driving schools will likely want their students to be taught how to drive safely in the local area.  Therefore, chances are good that the driver training you receive from Crystal Coast Driving School will include handling unpaved roads and mountain driving.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to get my learner's permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a learner's permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Crystal Coast Driving School or the North Carolina DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in North Carolina.
I live in Jacksonville North Carolina. Does the law say I have to register for both a driver ed classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do require that new, teen-aged drivers enroll in both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .
North Carolina's DMV has told me that I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course. Do you know if Crystal Coast Driving School offers this course or not?
Crystal Coast Driving School does offer the driver training course that North Carolina requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses Crystal Coast Driving School offers, we recommend that you contact Crystal Coast Driving School directly.
What do I need to do to get a North Carolina drivers license in Jacksonville North Carolina?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Crystal Coast Driving School may be able to help you meet the behind-the-wheel training portion in North Carolina.  Please contact Crystal Coast Driving School for more information.

Is it necessary for me to take a behind-the-wheel training course in order to get my first North Carolina driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in North Carolina are required to take a state-approved driver training course.
Will North Carolina allow me to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course before I actually get my learner's permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you obtain your learner's permit before you register with a behind-the-wheel training course.
