CJ's Driving School FAQ’s
How do I know if CJ's Driving School is certified by California's DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
While we do include CJ's Driving School's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether CJ's Driving School is certified by the State of California.  We recommend that you either contact CJ's Driving School directly or possibly the California DMV to find out if CJ's Driving School is a licensed driver training school.
I heard that parents can fill the role of driving supervisor in California, so taking a Santa Rosa driving school course like the one CJ's Driving School offers is not necessary. Is that true?
You should contact the California DMV or a licensed driver training school like CJ's Driving School and ask them.  While parent-taught driving instruction is permitted in some states, many states do NOT allow it.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if CJ's Driving School makes me train on a stick-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....stick OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call CJ's Driving School and let them know before you enroll in their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you'll know for sure whether CJ's Driving School can accommodate you before you pay them any money.
I don't live anywhere near a city. There are dirt roads and rugged terrain all around my house. How do I know if CJ's Driving School will train me on how to drive in a remote area like where I live and not just teach me how to drive in a town-or city-type environment?
Since CJ's Driving School is a local driver training company in your area, it's a safe bet that CJ's Driving School will be motivated (or perhaps required) to teach its local customers how to drive on rough terrain.  If you want to make certain, however, you may want to call CJ's Driving School to find out exactly what's included in their behind-the-wheel training course before you sign up with them.
Are 14-year-olds allowed to apply for a learner's permit in California?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the youngest age for which to hold a learner's permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school like CJ's Driving School to find out what the minimum age for driving is in California.
Is taking a drivers education course in a classroom or online sufficient in Santa Rosa California or do I also have to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training class with a professional driving instructor?
It depends on what the California's laws require, but many states do mandate that new, young drivers to successfully complete a behind-the-wheel training class with a professional driving instructor as well as a drivers education classroom or online course.
I have to take a defensive driving course in Santa Rosa California. Can I meet this requirement by signing up with CJ's Driving School?
Yes, CJ's Driving School offers drivers education courses in Santa Rosa California.  You will need to contact CJ's Driving School directly to get more information on the types of courses they offer and when to register for a class.
What do I need to do to get a California drivers license in Santa Rosa California?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course.  CJ's Driving School may be able to help you fulfill the behind-the-wheel training portion in California.  Please contact CJ's Driving School for more information.

Is it necessary for me to sign up for a driver training course in order to get my first California driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in California are required to take a state-approved driver training course.
Do I have to obtain my instruction permit in California before I am permitted to register for a driver training course like the one CJ's Driving School gives its students?
Laws vary from state to state, however most states do require that you hold an learner's permit before you can enroll in a driver training course like the one that CJ's Driving School gives its students.
