S Pass Driving School FAQ’s
Can you tell me if S Pass Driving School is a licensed driving school in California?
Although S Pass Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently licensed to teach hands-on driving courses in California.  We recommend either calling S Pass Driving School directly or the California DMV to find out whether or not S Pass Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training courses that are state-approved.
Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do allow parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required behind-the-wheel training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for attending a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding hands-on driving instruction.
I don't know how to drive using a stick-shift. Will S Pass Driving School have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my driver training?
Since you're enrolling in a California driver training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a stick-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let S Pass Driving School know what your preference is before registering for their behind-the-wheel class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will S Pass Driving School be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like S Pass Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on unpaved roads and other types of rugged terrain.  You may wish to contact S Pass Driving School to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before enrolling in their training course.
Can 14-year-olds get instruction permits to drive in California?
Most states have set the minimum age for applying for an instruction permit at 15 or 15 1/2.  However, some states do allow 14-year-olds to obtain an instruction permit.  You may want to contact the California DMV or a California-approved driver training school like S Pass Driving School to find out what the minimum age to drive is in California.
Do I have to take both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course in California to get my California driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers enroll in a defensive driving classroom course and a driver training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like S Pass Driving School and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
I am looking to enroll in a California drivers education course. Can S Pass Driving School assist me with this?
Yes.  defensive driving courses are available in California through S Pass Driving School.  Please contact S Pass Driving School directly with questions regarding their schedule of classes and registration information.
How do I obtain a drivers license in California?
In most states, pre-licensed teens are required to complete both a classroom drivers education course and a driver training course.  S Pass Driving School may be able to help you fulfill the behind-the-wheel training portion in California.
Is there a law in California that says I have to take driver training in order to get my driver's license?
Yes.  State law in California mandates that all teen-agers enroll in an approved driver training course before receiving a California driver's license.
Am I required to receive my instruction permit in California before I am permitted to enroll in a driver training course like the one S Pass Driving School gives its students?
Laws vary from state to state, however most states do require that you hold a instruction permit before you can enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course like the one that S Pass Driving School gives its students.
