LAFF Spot Defensive Driving FAQ’s
Is LAFF Spot Defensive Driving licensed by the Texas DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
Although we include LAFF Spot Defensive Driving in our directory of driving schools for Spring Texas, we cannot make any assurances about whether or not LAFF Spot Defensive Driving is certified by the Texas DMV.  You should contact LAFF Spot Defensive Driving directly and ask them if you are thinking about registering for their Spring Texas behind-the-wheel training class.
Do you know if I can complete my behind-the-wheel training with my mother or father instead of attending a driving school like LAFF Spot Defensive Driving?
Some states allow teen-agers to do their behind-the-wheel training with their parents instead of attending a professional driving school.  We recommend that you contact the Texas DMV or LAFF Spot Defensive Driving directly to find out if Texas allows parent-taught behind-the-wheel training.
I have no clue how to drive a stick-shift vehicle. What happens if LAFF Spot Defensive Driving makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....stick OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your hands-on driver training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call LAFF Spot Defensive Driving and let them know before you sign up to take their driver training course.  That way you'll know for sure whether LAFF Spot Defensive Driving will be able to accommodate you before you pay them any money.
I live in a small rural town, where there are a lot of small, unpaved roads. Will my behind-the-wheel training with LAFF Spot Defensive Driving include being taught how to drive in remote areas? Or do they just offer training for city driving?
Most local driving schools will likely want their students to know how to drive safely in the local area.  Therefore, chances are good that the behind-the-wheel training you receive from LAFF Spot Defensive Driving will include handling dirt roads and mountain driving.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in Texas?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get a learner's permit.  We recommend that you contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as LAFF Spot Defensive Driving to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Texas.
Is taking a drivers education course in a classroom or online sufficient in Spring Texas or do I also have to successfully complete a driver training class with a professional driving instructor?
It depends on what the Texas's laws require, but many states do mandate that new, young drivers to register for a driver training class with a professional driving instructor as well as a drivers education classroom or online course.
I have to register for a driver training class in Spring Texas before Texas will give me my driver's license. Does LAFF Spot Defensive Driving offer this type of course?
LAFF Spot Defensive Driving does offer the safe driver training course in Spring Texas that is required by the State of Texas.  You will need to contact LAFF Spot Defensive Driving directly for more information about the behind-the-wheel courses they offer and their class schedules.
How do I get a drivers license in Spring Texas?
In most states, pre-licensed teens are required to complete both a classroom safe driving course and a driver training course.  LAFF Spot Defensive Driving may be able to help you meet the driver training portion in Texas.
Do I have to take a Spring Texas driver training course in order to get a driver's license?
Yes.  All drivers in Texas must enroll in an approved driver training course in order to receive a driver's license.  Please contact LAFF Spot Defensive Driving for information on the types of behind-the-wheel training courses they offer in Spring Texas.
Is it okay for me to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training class in Texas before I receive my Texas instruction permit to drive?
Probably not.  Most states require first-time drivers to have their learners permit before they are allowed to sign up to take a driver training program.  You should contact a driving instruction company like LAFF Spot Defensive Driving and request more information.
