Alamo Center For Learning FAQ’s
Can you tell me if Alamo Center for Learning is a licensed driving school in Texas?
Although Alamo Center for Learning is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently certified to teach hands-on driving courses in Texas.  We recommend either calling Alamo Center for Learning directly or the Texas DMV to find out whether or not Alamo Center for Learning offers behind-the-wheel training courses that are state-approved.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my behind-the-wheel training instead of a professional driving school instructor like the ones they have at Alamo Center for Learning?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the Texas DMV or a licensed driving school like Alamo Center for Learning to find out if Texas allows driver training with a parent.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if Alamo Center for Learning makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....manual OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call Alamo Center for Learning and let them know before you enroll in their driver training course.  That way you'll know for sure whether Alamo Center for Learning can accommodate you before you pay them any money.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will Alamo Center for Learning be able to teach me how to drive safely on rugged terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like Alamo Center for Learning will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and other types of rugged terrain.  You may wish to contact Alamo Center for Learning to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before signing up to take their training course.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to obtain my instruction permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a learner's permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Alamo Center for Learning or the Texas DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Texas.
Do I have to take a San Antonio Texas classroom or online drivers education course before I can enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course through Alamo Center for Learning?
This requirement varies by state but most states do require new teen-aged drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based defensive driving course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a driver training course.  You should ask Alamo Center for Learning if they offer one or both programs.
Does Alamo Center for Learning provide a behind-the-wheel training course like the one that is required by the State of Texas? I need to enroll in one in order to obtain my driver license.
Alamo Center for Learning offers driver training courses which are approved by the Texas DMV.  You may want to contact Alamo Center for Learning directly for more information about their courses and how to go about signing up for one.
How do I get a drivers license in San Antonio Texas?
In most states, pre-licensed teens are required to complete both a classroom drivers education course and a driver training course.  Alamo Center for Learning may be able to help you fulfill the behind-the-wheel training portion in Texas.
What does the law in Texas say about driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
Yes, you do.  Texas law states that new drivers take an approved behind-the-wheel training course as a prerequisite to getting their first driver's license.
Can I sign up to take a Texas-licensed behind-the-wheel training course even if I don't have my Texas learners permit yet?
Most likely, no.  Most states have laws that mandate a pre-licensed driver to have obtained a Texas instruction permit before registering in a Texas behind-the-wheel training course.  It would be best for you to contact a driving school such as Alamo Center for Learning and ask for more information.
