Avant Driving School FAQ’s
Avant Driving School's address and phone number is listed on your webpage. How can I find out if it is an approved behind the wheel training school in Texas?
Even though we provide a list of driver training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is licensed by the Texas DMV to offer driver training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact Avant Driving School directly or check with the Texas DMV to find out for sure if Avant Driving School is a licensed school.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in Texas?
Each state has its own laws regarding behind-the-wheel training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised behind-the-wheel training as a substitute for attending a behind-the-wheel training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the Texas DMV to find out for sure.
What if I don't know how to drive a stick-shift automobile? Does Avant Driving School have automatic-shift vehicles that I can drive when I do my driver training?
If you're taking a Brookshire Texas behind-the-wheel training class, chances are you don't know how to drive ANY vehicle yet-- stick or automatic.  However, if you prefer an automatic vehicle then you should tell Avant Driving School that prior to registering for the course in order to make sure they can accommodate you.
I don't live anywhere near a city. There are dirt roads and rugged terrain all around my house. How do I know if Avant Driving School will train me on how to drive in a remote area like where I live and not just teach me how to drive in a town-or city-type environment?
Since Avant Driving School is a local driver training company in your area, it's a safe bet that Avant Driving School will be motivated (or perhaps required) to teach its local customers how to drive on bumpy terrain.  If you want to make certain, however, you may want to call Avant Driving School to find out exactly what's included in their behind-the-wheel training course before you sign up with them.
I just turned 14 years old. Am I eligible to apply for my learner's permit in Texas?
Probably not.  The minimum age requirement for holding an instruction permit in most states is 15 1/2.  You should contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as Avant Driving School to find out more information about the minimum age requirement in Texas.
Do I have to take both a defensive driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Brookshire Texas to get my Texas driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers register for a defensive driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like Avant Driving School and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
I am looking to enroll in a Brookshire Texas behind-the-wheel training course. Can Avant Driving School assist me with this?
Yes.  Drivers education courses are available in Brookshire Texas through Avant Driving School.  Please contact Avant Driving School directly with questions regarding their schedule of classes and registration information.
What do I need to do to get a driver's license in Brookshire Texas?
It depends on Texas's laws, but most states require new, teen-aged drivers to enroll in a drivers education classroom course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.  You may want to call Avant Driving School to see if they offer the behind-the-wheel training course that would satisfy the regulations set forth by the Texas DMV.
Is it necessary for me to sign up for a behind-the-wheel training course in order to get my first Texas driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in Texas must complete a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.
Is it possible to enroll in a Texas-certified driver training course before I obtain my Texas learners permit?
It depends on what the specific laws are in Texas, however most states require first-time drivers to receive an learners permit before signing up for a driver training course.  We recommend you contact a driving school such as Avant Driving School to obtain more information.
