Roadrunner Driving School FAQ’s
Roadrunner Driving School's address and phone number is listed on your webpage. How can I know for sure if it is a licensed driver training school in California?
Even though we provide a list of behind-the-wheel training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is certified by the California DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact Roadrunner Driving School directly or check with the California DMV to find out for sure if Roadrunner Driving School is a licensed school.
I heard that parents can fill the role of driving instructor in California, so taking a Santa Rosa behind-the-wheel training course like the one Roadrunner Driving School offers is not necessary. Is that true?
You should contact the California DMV or a licensed driving school like Roadrunner Driving School and ask them.  While parent-taught driving instruction is permitted in some states, many states do NOT allow it.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if Roadrunner Driving School makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....manual OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call Roadrunner Driving School and let them know before you enroll in their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you'll know for sure whether Roadrunner Driving School can accommodate you before you pay them any money.
I live in a remote area, that has a lot of dirt roads and rugged terrain. Will Roadrunner Driving School train me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a rural area, chances are very good that a local driving school like Roadrunner Driving School will want you to be trained in driving specific to the local area's terrain.
Are 14-year-olds permitted to obtain a instruction permit in California?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the youngest age for which to receive an instruction permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving instruction company like Roadrunner Driving School to find out what the minimum age for driving is in California.
Can I take Roadrunner Driving School's behind-the-wheel training course before taking a Santa Rosa California drivers education classroom course or online course?
It depends on what California's laws prescribe.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a drivers education classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on California's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you contact Roadrunner Driving School directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
I'm required to take a defensive driving course in Santa Rosa California. Do you know if Roadrunner Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training classes in Santa Rosa California?
Yes, Roadrunner Driving School does offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Santa Rosa California.  For more information about their class schedule and how/when to enroll in one of their behind-the-wheel training courses, please contact Roadrunner Driving School directly.
What do I need to do to get a California drivers license in Santa Rosa California?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Roadrunner Driving School may be able to help you fulfill the behind-the-wheel training portion in California.  Please contact Roadrunner Driving School for more information.

Is it necessary for me to take a driver training course in order to get my first California driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in California must complete a state-approved driver training course.
Can I register for a California-certified behind-the-wheel training course even if I don't have my California instruction permit yet?
Most likely, no.  Most states have laws that require a pre-licensed driver to have obtained a California learners permit before registering in a California behind-the-wheel training course.  It would be best for you to contact a driving school such as Roadrunner Driving School and ask for more information.
