ABC Traffic School FAQ’s
ABC Traffic School is listed on your website as a driving school which offers driver training courses. How do I know if ABC Traffic School is a licensed school in Tennessee?
While we include a list of driving schools on our website for your convenience, we cannot guarantee that every single one of them is currently licensed by the Tennessee DMV.  We suggest you contact ABC Traffic School directly or the Tennessee DMV to find out if ABC Traffic School is a fully-accredited driving school.
Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do permit parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for taking a professionally-taught driver training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
What happens if I don't know how to operate a manual-shift vehicle? Will ABC Traffic School allow me to do my driver training with an automatic-shift automobile?
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about driving any type of car--stick-shift or automatic-shift!  However, if you prefer to complete your driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle, you should contact ABC Traffic School and inform them before you enroll in their driver training course.  That way you will know for certain if they will accommodate you.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads all around. Will ABC Traffic School teach me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain area, chances are that a local driving instruction institute like ABC Traffic School will include driving lessons specifically tailored to that terrain.
Now that I'm 14, will Tennessee allow me to get a learner's permit to drive?
Not likely.  Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for a learner's permit.  We recommend that your contact the Tennessee DMV office or a Tennessee-approved driving school such as ABC Traffic School to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in Tennessee.
Is taking a drivers education course in a classroom or online sufficient in Franklin Tennessee or do I also have to take a driver training class with a professional driving instructor?
It depends on what the Tennessee's laws require, but many states do mandate that new, young drivers to register for a driver training class with a professional driving instructor as well as a drivers education classroom or online course.
I'm required to take a defensive driving course in Franklin Tennessee. Do you know if ABC Traffic School offers defensive driving classes in Franklin Tennessee?
Yes, ABC Traffic School does offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Franklin Tennessee.  For more information about their class schedule and how/when to sign up for one of their defensive driving courses, please contact ABC Traffic School directly.
Exactly what type of driver education do I need in Franklin Tennessee before I can get my Tennessee driver's license?
The prerequisites for getting a driver's licenses vary from state to state, however most states now require teen-agers who are looking to get their first driver's license to sign up to take a safe driving classroom course as well as a driver training course.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training company such as ABC Traffic School and ask if they offer a Tennessee-approved  behind-the-wheel training course which would meet Tennessee's driver's education requirements.
What are the laws in Tennessee concerning driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
Yes, you do.  Tennessee law states that new drivers take an approved driver training course as a prerequisite to obtaining their first driver's license.
Can I sign up to take a Tennessee-approved driver training course even if I don't have my Tennessee instruction permit yet?
Most likely, no.  Most states have laws that mandate a pre-licensed driver to have obtained a Tennessee learners permit before registering in a Tennessee behind-the-wheel training course.  It would be best for you to contact a driving school such as ABC Traffic School and ask for more information.
