The Driver Academy FAQ’s
Since The Driver Academy appears on your website, does this mean they are approved by the Georgia DMV to offer driver training courses?
The list of driving schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only.  We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-certified by the Georgia DMV.  You may want to call The Driver Academy directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my behind-the-wheel training instead of a professional driving school instructor like the ones they have at The Driver Academy?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the Georgia DMV or a licensed driving school like The Driver Academy to find out if Georgia allows behind-the-wheel training with a parent.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if The Driver Academy makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....stick OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call The Driver Academy and let them know before you sign up to take their driver training course.  That way you'll know for certain whether The Driver Academy can accommodate you before you pay them any money.
I live in a remote area, that has a lot of dirt roads and rugged terrain. Will The Driver Academy train me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a rural area, chances are very good that a local driving school like The Driver Academy will want you to be trained in driving specific to the local area's terrain.
Can 14-year-olds get learner's permits to drive in Georgia?
Most states have set the minimum age for applying for a learner's permit at 15 or 15 1/2.  However, some states do allow 14-year-olds to get a learner's permit.  You may want to contact the Georgia DMV or a Georgia-approved driver training school like The Driver Academy to find out what the minimum age to drive is in Georgia.
Can I take The Driver Academy's behind-the-wheel training course before taking a Waycross Georgia drivers education classroom course or online course?
It depends on what Georgia's laws say.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a drivers education classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on Georgia's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you contact The Driver Academy directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
I have to take a driver training class in Waycross Georgia before Georgia will give me my driver's license. Does The Driver Academy offer this type of course?
The Driver Academy does offer the safe driver training course in Waycross Georgia that is required by the State of Georgia.  You will need to contact The Driver Academy directly for more information about the behind-the-wheel courses they offer and their class schedules.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a Georgia driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to complete both a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a safe driving classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the Georgia DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to fulfill in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Is a behind-the-wheel training course required in Waycross Georgia for me to get a drivers license?
The law in Georgia requires that all drivers complete a driver training course as part of their driver education.  You should contact The Driver Academy directly to find out about the types of courses they offer.
Can I sign up to take a Georgia-licensed behind-the-wheel training course even if I don't have my Georgia learners permit yet?
Most likely, no.  Most states have laws that require a pre-licensed driver to have obtained a Georgia instruction permit before registering in a Georgia behind-the-wheel training course.  It would be best for you to contact a driving school such as The Driver Academy and ask for more information.
