First Class Driver FAQ’s
First Class Driver is listed on your website as a driving school which offers behind-the-wheel training courses. How do I know if First Class Driver is a licensed school in Texas?
While we include a list of driver training schools on our website for your convenience, we cannot guarantee that every single one of them is currently licensed by the Texas DMV.  We suggest you contact First Class Driver directly or the Texas DMV to find out if First Class Driver is a fully-accredited driving school.
Do I have to take a driver training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do permit parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required behind-the-wheel training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for enrolling in a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding hands-on driving instruction.
What happens if I don't know how to operate a stick-shift vehicle? Will First Class Driver allow me to do my behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle?
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about driving any type of vehicle--manual-shift or automatic-shift!  However, if you prefer to complete your driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle, you should contact First Class Driver and let them know before you register for their driver training course.  That way you will know for certain if they will accommodate you.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads all around. Will First Class Driver train me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain community, chances are that a local driving school like First Class Driver will include behind-the-wheel driver training specifically tailored to that terrain.
Can 14-year-olds get instruction permits to drive in Texas?
Most states have set the minimum age for applying for a learner's permit at 15 or 15 1/2.  However, some states do allow 14-year-olds to get a learner's permit.  You may want to contact the Texas DMV or a Texas-approved driver training school like First Class Driver to find out what the minimum age to drive is in Texas.
Do you know if the laws in Texas require new teen-aged drivers to enroll in a driver training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course?
The laws vary from state to state, but many states do require you to register for a behind-the-wheel training course with "hands-on" practice in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.
I'm required to take a driver training course in Fort Worth Texas. Do you know if First Class Driver offers defensive driving classes in Fort Worth Texas?
Yes, First Class Driver does offer defensive driving courses in Fort Worth Texas.  For more information about their class schedule and how/when to enroll in one of their driver training courses, please contact First Class Driver directly.
What type of driver ed do I need before Texas will give me a driver's license?
Each state has its own requirements concerning drivers education, although you should know that most states now require all new, young drivers to sign up to take a safe driving classroom or online course as well as a driver training course.  First Class Driver may be able to help you fulfill the behind-the-wheel training requirement in Texas.  Please contact either First Class Driver or the Texas DMV for more information.
Is hands-on driver training required in Texas in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle?
Absolutely.  All new drivers in Texas must enroll in an approved hands-on driver training course before they can be issued a license to independently operate a motor vehicle.
Is it all right if I enroll in a behind-the-wheel training school like First Class Driver prior to my obtaining my instruction permit?
In most states, you are required to have already received your learner's permit before you register for your behind-the-wheel training course like the one offered by First Class Driver.  We suggest you contact either First Class Driver to find out more information.
