Nevada Drive Academy FAQ’s
Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-certified by the Nevada DMV to offer driver training courses in Nevada?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently accredited to offer driving training courses in Nevada.  We suggest you contact the Nevada DMV to make sure a particular driver training school is certified before you register for their driving course.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in Nevada?
Each state has its own laws regarding behind-the-wheel training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised behind-the-wheel training as a substitute for attending a driver training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the Nevada DMV to find out for sure.
What if I don't know how to operate a stick-shift automobile? Does Nevada Drive Academy have automatic-shift vehicles that I can drive when I do my behind-the-wheel training?
If you're taking a Las Vegas Nevada behind-the-wheel training class, chances are you don't know how to drive ANY vehicle yet-- stick or automatic.  However, if you prefer an automatic vehicle then you should tell Nevada Drive Academy that prior to signing up to take the course in order to make sure they can accommodate you.
I live in a remote area, that has a lot of dirt roads and rugged terrain. Will Nevada Drive Academy teach me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a remote area, chances are very good that a local driver training school like Nevada Drive Academy will want you to be taught how to drive safely on the local area's terrain.
I just turned 14 years old. Can I apply for my instruction permit in Nevada?
Probably not.  The minimum age requirement for holding an instruction permit in most states is 15 1/2.  You should contact the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as Nevada Drive Academy to find out more information about the minimum age requirement in Nevada.
Do you know if the laws in Nevada require new teen-aged drivers to register for a driver training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course?
The laws vary from state to state, but many states do require you to register for a driver training course with "hands-on" practice in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.
I am looking to sign up to take a Las Vegas Nevada defensive driving course. Can Nevada Drive Academy assist me with this?
Yes.  defensive driving courses are available in Las Vegas Nevada through Nevada Drive Academy.  Please contact Nevada Drive Academy directly with questions regarding their schedule of classes and registration information.
What do I need to do to obtain a driver's license in Las Vegas Nevada?
It depends on Nevada's laws, but most states require new, teen-aged drivers to complete a safe driving classroom course as well as a driver training course.  You may want to call Nevada Drive Academy to see if they offer the driver training course that would satisfy the regulations set forth by the Nevada DMV.
Is it necessary for me to complete a driver training course in order to get my first Nevada driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in Nevada must complete a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.
Will Nevada allow me to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course before I actually receive my learner's permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you obtain your learner's permit before you enroll in a driver training course.
