Saenz Driving School FAQ’s
Saenz Driving School's address and phone number is listed on your webpage. How can I find out if it is a licensed behind the wheel training school in Texas?
Even though we provide a list of driver training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is licensed by the Texas DMV to offer driver training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact Saenz Driving School directly or check with the Texas DMV to find out for sure if Saenz Driving School is a licensed school.
I heard that parents can fill the role of driving supervisor in Texas, so taking a Houston driving school course like the one Saenz Driving School offers is not necessary. Is that true?
You should contact the Texas DMV or a licensed driving school like Saenz Driving School and ask them.  While parent-taught driving instruction is permitted in some states, many states do NOT allow it.
What happens if I don't know how to operate a manual-shift vehicle? Will Saenz Driving School allow me to do my behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle?
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating any type of vehicle--manual-shift or automatic-shift!  However, if you prefer to complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle, you should contact Saenz Driving School and let them know before you sign up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you will know for certain if they will accommodate you.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads everywhere. Will Saenz Driving School teach me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain town, chances are that a local driving instruction institute like Saenz Driving School will include driving lessons specifically tailored to that terrain.
Are 14-year-olds permitted to obtain a instruction permit in Texas?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the minimum age for which to receive a learner's permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school like Saenz Driving School to find out what the minimum age for driving is in Texas.
Do you know if the laws in Texas require new teen-aged drivers to take a driver training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course?
The laws vary from state to state, but many states do require you to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course with "hands-on" practice in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.
I have to take a driver training class in Houston Texas before Texas will give me my driver's license. Does Saenz Driving School offer this type of course?
Saenz Driving School does offer the driver training course in Houston Texas that is required by the State of Texas.  You will need to contact Saenz Driving School directly for more information about the driver courses they offer and their class schedules.
What do I need to do to obtain a driver's license in Houston Texas?
It depends on Texas's laws, but most states require new, teen-aged drivers to register for a safe driving classroom course as well as a driver training course.  You may want to call Saenz Driving School to see if they offer the behind-the-wheel training course that would fulfill the regulations set forth by the Texas DMV.
Is it necessary for me to take a driver training course in order to get my first Texas driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in Texas are required to take a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.
Is it all right if I sign up with a driver training school like Saenz Driving School prior to my receiving my instruction permit?
In most states, you are required to have already received your learner's permit before you sign up to take your behind-the-wheel training course like the one offered by Saenz Driving School.  We suggest you contact either Saenz Driving School to find out more information.
