Mid-Plains Business & Community Education FAQ’s
Is Mid-Plains Business & Community Education a licensed driving school in Nebraska?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer driver training courses in Nebraska.  We highly recommend that you contact Mid-Plains Business & Community Education directly or the Nebraska DMV to find out for sure if Mid-Plains Business & Community Education offers hands-on driving courses that have been approved by the State of Nebraska.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in Nebraska?
Each state has its own rules regarding driver training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised behind-the-wheel training as a substitute for attending a driver training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the Nebraska DMV to find out for sure.
Do I need to tell Mid-Plains Business & Community Education that I need to train with an automatic-shift car? I don't know how to drive a manual-shift automobile.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a stick-shift OR and automatic-shift automobile!  We recommend that you ask Mid-Plains Business & Community Education if you can complete your driver training using an automatic-shift automobile before you enroll in their driver training course.
What happens to those of us who live in a remote area? Will Mid-Plains Business & Community Education include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other rugged?
If you live in a rural location, there is a high probability that a local driving school like Mid-Plains Business & Community Education will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular locale.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to get my instruction permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a instruction permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Mid-Plains Business & Community Education or the Nebraska DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Nebraska.
Do you know if the laws in Nebraska require new teen-aged drivers to enroll in a driver training course in addition to a driver ed classroom or online course?
The laws vary from state to state, but many states do require you to register for a behind-the-wheel training course with "hands-on" practice in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.
I have to complete a safe driving class in McCook Nebraska before Nebraska will give me my driver's license. Does Mid-Plains Business & Community Education offer this type of course?
Mid-Plains Business & Community Education does offer the safe driver training course in McCook Nebraska that is required by the State of Nebraska.  You will need to contact Mid-Plains Business & Community Education directly for more information about the behind-the-wheel courses they offer and their class schedules.
What do I need to do to get a Nebraska drivers license in McCook Nebraska?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a safe driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Mid-Plains Business & Community Education may be able to help you fulfill the behind-the-wheel training portion in Nebraska.  Please contact Mid-Plains Business & Community Education for more information.

Is a driver training course a prerequisite in McCook Nebraska for me to get a drivers license?
The law in Nebraska requires that all drivers complete a driver training program as part of their driver education.  You should contact Mid-Plains Business & Community Education directly to find out about the types of courses they offer.
Will Nebraska allow me to sign up to take a behind-the-wheel training course before I actually get my instruction permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you obtain your instruction permit before you sign up with a behind-the-wheel training course.
