OHIO DRIVER LICENSE REQUIREMENTS AT-A-GLANCE:
Minimum Age for Learner Permit 15 years, 6 months
Learner Permit Holding Period 6 months (if you're under 18 years of age)

Minimum Amount of Supervised Driving 50 hours, including 10 at night
Unsupervised Driving Rules 16-year-old licensed drivers may not drive between 12 midnight and 6am and 17-year-old licensed drivers unless their parent/guardian who has a valid license is in the vehicle (Exceptions are if you’re driving to or from a school activity or place of employment. Documentation will be required).
Passenger Rules 16-year-old licensed drivers may not carry more than one (1) non-family passenger unless a parent or guardian who has a valid license is in the vehicle
Other All permit and license applicants under age 18 must complete drivers education. At 14, students may apply for a hardship license if they meet certain conditions and are the only licensed driver in their household
