Safety First Traffic School FAQ’s
Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-certified by the Florida DMV to offer driver training courses in Florida?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently certified to offer driving training courses in Florida.  We suggest you contact the Florida DMV to make sure a particular driver training school is accredited before you sign up to take their driving course.
I've been told that either of my parents can supervise my driver training, so I don't have to attend a Tampa Florida driving school like Safety First Traffic School to fulfill my behind-the-wheel training requirement. Do you know if that's true or not?
You will need to contact the Florida DMV or a state-approved driving school like Safety First Traffic School to find out.  Some states do allow parent-taught driving, but many states do not.
What if I don't know how to operate a vehicle with a stick-shift? Does Safety First Traffic School have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll allow me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a stick-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a manual or an automatic, you probably should call Safety First Traffic School to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your signing up to take their driver training course.
I don't live anywhere near a city. There are dirt roads and bumpy terrain all around my house. How do I know if Safety First Traffic School will train me on how to drive in a remote area like where I live and not just teach me how to drive in a town-or city-type environment?
Since Safety First Traffic School is a local driver training company in your area, it's a safe bet that Safety First Traffic School will be motivated (or perhaps required) to teach its local customers how to drive on rough terrain.  If you want to make certain, however, you may want to call Safety First Traffic School to find out exactly what's included in their driver training course before you sign up with them.
I'm turning 14 in a few months. Can I get a instruction permit to drive in Florida after my 14th birthday?
Most likely, no.  Most states (though not all) have laws which require that you be at least 15 or 15 1/2 before to be eligible to apply for a learner's permit.  Nevertheless, you may wish to contact the Florida DMV office or a Florida-certified driving school such as Safety First Traffic School to find out for certain what the minimum driving age is in your local area.
Can I take Safety First Traffic School's behind-the-wheel training course before taking a Tampa Florida drivers education classroom course or online course?
It depends on what Florida's laws say.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a drivers education classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on Florida's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved driver training course.  We recommend that you contact Safety First Traffic School directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
Florida's DMV has told me that I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course. Do you know if Safety First Traffic School offers this course or not?
Safety First Traffic School does offer the behind-the-wheel training course that Florida requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses Safety First Traffic School offers, we recommend that you contact Safety First Traffic School directly.
What do I need to do to get a Florida drivers license in Tampa Florida?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Safety First Traffic School may be able to help you meet the driver training portion in Florida.  Please contact Safety First Traffic School for more information.

Is it necessary for me to take a driver training course in order to get my first Florida driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in Florida are required to take a state-approved driver training course.
Is it all right if I sign up with a driver training school like Safety First Traffic School prior to my obtaining my instruction permit?
In most states, you are required to have already received your learner's permit before you sign up to take your driver training course like the one offered by Safety First Traffic School.  We suggest you contact either Safety First Traffic School to find out more information.
