Community Traffic School FAQ’s
Since Community Traffic School is listed on your website, does this mean they are approved by the Florida DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
The list of driver training schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only.  We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-certified by the Florida DMV.  You may want to call Community Traffic School directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
Will the Florida DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly.  Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice in place of taking a driver training course with a professional driving instructor.  You will need to contact the Florida DMV to find out if your behind-the-wheel driving may be done by your parents in Florida.
Do you know if Community Traffic School will let me take my behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a stick-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a manual OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact Community Traffic School and see if they can accommodate you before registering for their driver training course.
I live in a small mountain community, where there are a lot of small, unpaved roads. Will my driver training with Community Traffic School include learning how to drive in remote areas? Or do they just offer training for urban driving?
Most local driving schools will likely want their students to be taught how to drive safely in the local area.  Therefore, chances are good that the driver training you receive from Community Traffic School will include handling dirt roads and mountain driving.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to get my instruction permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a learner's permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Community Traffic School or the Florida DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Florida.
Do I have to take a Miami Florida classroom or online drivers education course before I can enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course through Community Traffic School?
This requirement varies by state but most states do mandate new teen-aged drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based defensive driving course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a driver training course.  You should ask Community Traffic School if they offer one or both programs.
Florida law says that I must enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course in order to get licensed to drive in Miami Florida. Is this something that Community Traffic School can help me with?
Yes, Community Traffic School offers the Florida-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  For more information about their classes and instruction schedule, please contact Community Traffic School directly.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a Florida driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to enroll in both a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the Florida DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to satisfy in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Is there a law in Florida that requires me to take driver training in order to get my driver's license?
Yes.  State law in Florida mandates that all teen-agers enroll in an approved driver training course before receiving a Florida driver's license.
Is it all right if I enroll in a behind-the-wheel training school like Community Traffic School prior to my receiving my learner's permit?
In most states, you are required to have already gotten your instruction permit before you sign up to take your driver training course like the one offered by Community Traffic School.  We suggest you contact either Community Traffic School to find out more information.
