Don's Driving School FAQ’s
Can you tell me if Don's Driving School is a certified driver training school in North Dakota?
Although Don's Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently certified to teach driver training courses in North Dakota.  We recommend either calling Don's Driving School directly or the North Dakota DMV to find out whether or not Don's Driving School offers hands-on driving courses that are state-approved.
Do I have to take a driver training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do allow parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for taking a professionally-taught driver training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding hands-on driving instruction.
I can't drive a manual-shift. Will Don's Driving School allow me to do my behind-the-wheel training on an automatic-shift vehicle?
We recommend that you contact Don's Driving School and ask them if you can do your behind-the-wheel training using a vehicle that has an automatic shift before registering for their behind-the-wheel training course.
What happens to those of us who live in a non-urban area? Will Don's Driving School include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other bumpy terrain?
If you live in a remote location, there is a high probability that a local driver training school like Don's Driving School will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular locale.
I just turned 14 years old. Am I eligible to apply for my instruction permit in North Dakota?
Probably not.  The minimum age requirement for holding an instruction permit in most states is 15 1/2.  You should contact the North Dakota Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as Don's Driving School to find out more information about the minimum age requirement in North Dakota.
I live in Bismark North Dakota. Does the law say I have to successfully complete both a driver ed classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do mandate that new, teen-aged drivers successfully complete both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .
North Dakota law says that I must sign up to take a hands-on driver training course in order to get licensed to drive in Bismark North Dakota. Is this something that Don's Driving School can help me with?
Yes, Don's Driving School offers the North Dakota-approved driver training course.  For more information about their classes and instruction schedule, please contact Don's Driving School directly.
I live in Bismark North Dakota. What are the requirements for me to be able to get my first North Dakota driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of North Dakota, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Don's Driving School may offer courses which would meet the behind-the-wheel training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
I live in Bismark North Dakota and would like to apply for my first driver's license. Do I need to take a driver training course before I can be licensed?
North Dakota law mandates that all new drivers sign up for an approved behind-the-wheel training program before receiving their North Dakota driver's license.  Don's Driving School may offer a driver training course that you are looking for.  Please contact Don's Driving School directly for complete information as to what types of driver training courses they offer.
Is it possible to enroll in a North Dakota-certified driver training course before I obtain my North Dakota learners permit?
It depends on what the specific laws are in North Dakota, however most states require first-time drivers to receive an instruction permit before signing up for a driver training course.  We recommend you contact a driving school such as Don's Driving School to obtain more information.
