Continental Driving Machines FAQ’s
Is Continental Driving Machines a licensed driving school in Ohio?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer hands-on driving courses in Ohio.  We highly recommend that you contact Continental Driving Machines directly or the Ohio DMV to find out for sure if Continental Driving Machines offers behind-the-wheel training courses that have been approved by the State of Ohio.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my driver training instead of a professional driver training school instructor like the ones they have at Continental Driving Machines?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the Ohio DMV or a licensed driving school like Continental Driving Machines to find out if Ohio allows behind-the-wheel training with a parent.
Do I need to tell Continental Driving Machines that I need to train with an automatic-shift automobile? I don't know how to drive a stick-shift automobile.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a manual-shift OR and automatic-shift vehicle!  We recommend that you ask Continental Driving Machines if you can complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle before you register for their driver training course.
I don't live anywhere near a city. There are unpaved roads and bumpy terrain all around my house. How do I know if Continental Driving Machines will train me on how to drive in a rural area like where I live and not just teach me how to drive in a town-or city-type environment?
Since Continental Driving Machines is a local driver training company in your area, it's a safe bet that Continental Driving Machines will be motivated (or perhaps required) to teach its local customers how to drive on bumpy terrain.  If you want to make certain, however, you may want to call Continental Driving Machines to find out exactly what's included in their behind-the-wheel training course before you register with them.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in Ohio?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the Ohio Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as Continental Driving Machines to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Ohio.
Will I be required to enroll in both a drivers education classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in West Chester Ohio?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now require new teen-aged drivers to sign up for both a drivers education course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.
Ohio's DMV has told me that I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course. Do you know if Continental Driving Machines offers this course or not?
Continental Driving Machines does offer the driver training course that Ohio requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses Continental Driving Machines offers, we recommend that you contact Continental Driving Machines directly.
What type of driver ed do I need before Ohio will give me a driver's license?
Each state has its own requirements concerning drivers education, although you should know that most states now mandate all new, young drivers to sign up to take a safe driving classroom or online course as well as a driver training course.  Continental Driving Machines may be able to help you fulfill the behind-the-wheel training requirement in Ohio.  Please contact either Continental Driving Machines or the Ohio DMV for more information.
Is it necessary for me to enroll in a driver training course in order to get my first Ohio driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in Ohio must complete a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.
Can I register for a Ohio-approved behind-the-wheel training course even if I don't have my Ohio instruction permit yet?
Most likely, no.  Most states have laws that require a pre-licensed driver to have obtained a Ohio learners permit before registering in a Ohio behind-the-wheel training course.  It would be best for you to contact a driving school such as Continental Driving Machines and ask for more information.
