Jack's Driving School FAQ’s
How do I know if Jack's Driving School is certified by Ohio's DMV to offer driver training courses?
While we do include Jack's Driving School's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether Jack's Driving School is licensed by the State of Ohio.  We recommend that you either contact Jack's Driving School directly or possibly the Ohio DMV to find out if Jack's Driving School is a licensed driver training school.
Could I just have my mother or father give me my behind-the-wheel training instead of paying money to attend a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which permit you to complete your behind-the-wheel training with a parent or guardian instead of attending a professional driving school.  However many states require that new drivers take a professionally-taught driver training course.  We recommend that you check with your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
What if I don't know how to operate a vehicle with a manual-shift? Does Jack's Driving School have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll let me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a manual-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a manual or an automatic, you probably should call Jack's Driving School to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your signing up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.
I live in a small rural community, where there are a lot of small, unpaved roads. Will my behind-the-wheel training with Jack's Driving School include learning how to drive in rural areas? Or do they just offer training for urban driving?
Most local driving schools will likely want their students to know how to drive safely in the local area.  Therefore, chances are good that the behind-the-wheel training you receive from Jack's Driving School will include handling dirt roads and mountain driving.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to get my learner's permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a instruction permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Jack's Driving School or the Ohio DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Ohio.
Do I have to take a Mason Ohio classroom or online drivers education course before I can enroll in a driver training course through Jack's Driving School?
This requirement varies by state but most states do require new teen-aged drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based driver education course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a driver training course.  You should ask Jack's Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
I am looking to enroll in a Mason Ohio drivers education course. Can Jack's Driving School assist me with this?
Yes.  defensive driving courses are available in Mason Ohio through Jack's Driving School.  Please contact Jack's Driving School directly with questions regarding their schedule of classes and registration information.
What type of driver ed do I need before Ohio will give me a driver's license?
Each state has its own requirements concerning drivers education, although you should know that most states now mandate all new, young drivers to enroll in a drivers education classroom or online course as well as a driver training course.  Jack's Driving School may be able to help you fulfill the driver training requirement in Ohio.  Please contact either Jack's Driving School or the Ohio DMV for more information.
Am I obligated to take a Mason Ohio behind-the-wheel training course?
All drivers in Ohio are required to take a driver training course.  You should contact Jack's Driving School to learn more about the courses they offer.
Do I need to have my learner's permit before I register for a driver training course like the one that Jack's Driving School offers?
You will need to contact Jack's Driving School or the Ohio DMV to find out if you are allowed to enroll in a driving school like Jack's Driving School before receiving your Ohio instruction permit.
