Ohio Driving Center FAQ’s
Since Ohio Driving Center appears on your website, does this mean they've been approved by the Ohio DMV to offer driver training courses?
The list of driving schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only.  We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-certified by the Ohio DMV.  You may want to call Ohio Driving Center directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
I've been told that either of my parents can monitor my driver training, so I don't have to attend a Columbus Ohio driving school like Ohio Driving Center to fulfill my driver training requirement. Do you know if that's true or not?
You will need to contact the Ohio DMV or a state-approved driving school like Ohio Driving Center to find out.  Some states do allow parent-taught driving, but many states do not.
Do I need to tell Ohio Driving Center that I need to train with an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know how to drive a manual-shift vehicle.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a stick-shift OR and automatic-shift vehicle!  We recommend that you ask Ohio Driving Center if you can complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift automobile before you register for their driver training course.
I live in a remote area, that has a lot of dirt roads and rugged terrain. Will Ohio Driving Center train me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a remote area, chances are very good that a local driving school like Ohio Driving Center will want you to be taught how to drive safely on the local area's terrain.
If I'm 14, can I get an instruction permit to drive in Ohio?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get a learner's permit.  We recommend that you contact the Ohio Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as Ohio Driving Center to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Ohio.
Is taking a drivers education course in a classroom or online sufficient in Columbus Ohio or do I also have to take a driver training class with a professional driving instructor?
It depends on what the Ohio's laws require, but many states do mandate that new, young drivers to enroll in a driver training class with a professional driving instructor as well as a drivers education classroom or online course.
Ohio's DMV has told me that I need to take a driver training course. Do you know if Ohio Driving Center offers this course or not?
Ohio Driving Center does offer the behind-the-wheel training course that Ohio requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses Ohio Driving Center offers, we recommend that you contact Ohio Driving Center directly.
What type of driver ed do I need before Ohio will give me a driver's license?
Each state has its own requirements concerning drivers education, although you should know that most states now mandate all new, young drivers to register for a safe driving classroom or online course as well as a driver training course.  Ohio Driving Center may be able to help you meet the driver training requirement in Ohio.  Please contact either Ohio Driving Center or the Ohio DMV for more information.
Am I obligated to take a Columbus Ohio behind-the-wheel training course?
All drivers in Ohio are required to take a driver training course.  You should contact Ohio Driving Center to learn more about the courses they offer.
Do I need to have my instruction permit before I register for a behind-the-wheel training course like the one that Ohio Driving Center offers?
You will need to contact Ohio Driving Center or the Ohio DMV to find out if you are allowed to register with a driver training school like Ohio Driving Center before receiving your Ohio instruction permit.
