National Traffic Safety Institute FAQ’s
National Traffic Safety Institute's contact information is listed on your webpage. How can I know for sure if it is a licensed driver training school in Washington?
Even though we provide a list of driver training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is certified by the Washington DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact National Traffic Safety Institute directly or check with the Washington DMV to find out for sure if National Traffic Safety Institute is a licensed school.
Could I just have my mother or father give me my behind-the-wheel training instead of paying money to enroll in a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which permit you to do your hands-on driver training with a parent or guardian instead of enrolling in a professional driving school.  However many states require that first-time drivers take a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you check with your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
I don't know how to drive using a manual-shift. Will National Traffic Safety Institute have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my driver training?
Since you're enrolling in a Issaquah Washington behind-the-wheel training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a stick-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let National Traffic Safety Institute know what your preference is before enrolling in their behind-the-wheel class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
What happens to those of us who live in a rural area? Will National Traffic Safety Institute include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other bumpy terrain?
If you live in a remote location, there is a high probability that a local driving school like National Traffic Safety Institute will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular locale.
I just turned 14 years old. Am I eligible to apply for my instruction permit in Washington?
Probably not.  The minimum age requirement for holding a learners permit in most states is 15 1/2.  You should contact the Washington Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as National Traffic Safety Institute to find out more information about the minimum age requirement in Washington.
Do I have to take both a defensive driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Issaquah Washington to get my Washington driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers enroll in a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like National Traffic Safety Institute and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
Washington's DMV has told me that I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course. Do you know if National Traffic Safety Institute offers this course or not?
National Traffic Safety Institute does offer the driver training course that Washington requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses National Traffic Safety Institute offers, we recommend that you contact National Traffic Safety Institute directly.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a Washington driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to enroll in both a driver training course in addition to a safe driving classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the Washington DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to fulfill in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Do I have to take a Issaquah Washington driver training course in order to get a driver's license?
Yes.  All drivers in Washington must enroll in an approved behind-the-wheel training course in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle.  Please contact National Traffic Safety Institute for information on the types of behind-the-wheel training courses they offer in Issaquah Washington.
Will Washington allow me to enroll in a driver training course before I actually receive my learner's permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you receive your learner's permit before you register with a driver training course.
