A & A Driving School FAQ’s
Since A & A Driving School is listed on your website, does this mean they are approved by the Michigan DMV to offer driver training courses?
The list of driver training schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only.  We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-approved by the Michigan DMV.  You may want to call A & A Driving School directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
Do you know if I can do my driver training with my mother or father instead of attending a behind-the-wheel training course like the ones offered by A & A Driving School?
Some states allow teen-agers to do their behind-the-wheel training with their parents instead of attending a professional driving school.  We recommend that you contact the Michigan DMV or A & A Driving School directly to find out if Michigan allows parent-taught behind-the-wheel training.
What if I don't know how to drive a vehicle with a manual-shift? Does A & A Driving School have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll allow me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a manual-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a manual or an automatic, you probably should call A & A Driving School to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your signing up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.
I don't live anywhere near a city. There are dirt roads and bumpy terrain all around my house. How do I know if A & A Driving School will train me on how to drive in a remote area like where I live and not just teach me how to drive in a town-or city-type environment?
Since A & A Driving School is a local driver training company in your area, it's a safe bet that A & A Driving School will be motivated (or perhaps required) to teach its local customers how to drive on rugged terrain.  If you want to make certain, however, you may want to call A & A Driving School to find out exactly what's included in their driver training course before you register with them.
Can I get my Michigan learner's permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the youngest age to obtain an instruction permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the Michigan Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driver training school like A & A Driving School to learn more about the minimum age requirement in Michigan.
Do you know if the laws in Michigan require new teen-aged drivers to successfully complete a driver training course in addition to a driver ed classroom or online course?
The laws vary from state to state, but many states do require you to register for a driver training course with "hands-on" practice in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.
Michigan law says that I must enroll in a driver training course in order to get licensed to drive in Livonia Michigan. Is this something that A & A Driving School can help me with?
Yes, A & A Driving School offers the Michigan-approved hands-on driver training course.  For more information about their classes and instruction schedule, please contact A & A Driving School directly.
What type of driver ed do I need before Michigan will give me a driver's license?
Each state has its own requirements concerning drivers education, although you should know that most states now mandate all new, young drivers to sign up to take a safe driving classroom or online course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.  A & A Driving School may be able to help you meet the behind-the-wheel training requirement in Michigan.  Please contact either A & A Driving School or the Michigan DMV for more information.
Is hands-on driver training required in Michigan in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle?
Absolutely.  All new drivers in Michigan must register for an approved behind-the-wheel training course before they can get a license to independently drive a motor vehicle.
Will Michigan allow me to sign up to take a behind-the-wheel training course before I actually get my instruction permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you obtain your instruction permit before you sign up with a behind-the-wheel training course.
