A-1 Driver Testing FAQ’s
A-1 Driver Testing's address and phone number is listed on your webpage. How can I find out if it is an approved behind the wheel training school in Michigan?
Even though we provide a list of driver training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is certified by the Michigan DMV to offer driver training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact A-1 Driver Testing directly or check with the Michigan DMV to find out for sure if A-1 Driver Testing is a licensed school.
Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do allow parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for taking a professionally-taught driver training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
What if I don't know how to operate a manual-shift automobile? Does A-1 Driver Testing have automatic-shift vehicles that I can drive when I do my driver training?
If you're taking a Marquette Michigan behind-the-wheel training class, chances are you don't know how to drive ANY vehicle yet-- manual or automatic.  However, if you prefer an automatic vehicle then you should tell A-1 Driver Testing that prior to registering for the course in order to make sure they can accommodate you.
I live in a small rural community, where there are a lot of small, unpaved roads. Will my behind-the-wheel training with A-1 Driver Testing include being taught how to drive in remote areas? Or do they just offer training for urban driving?
Most local driving schools will likely want their students to know how to drive safely in the local area.  Therefore, chances are good that the driver training you receive from A-1 Driver Testing will include handling dirt roads and mountain driving.
Can I get my Michigan learner's permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the minimum age to obtain an instruction permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the Michigan Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driver training school like A-1 Driver Testing to learn more about the minimum age requirement in Michigan.
Will I be required to complete both a drivers education classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Marquette Michigan?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now require new teen-aged drivers to successfully complete both a drivers education course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.
I have to register for a driver training class in Marquette Michigan before Michigan will give me my driver's license. Does A-1 Driver Testing offer this type of course?
A-1 Driver Testing does offer the driver training course in Marquette Michigan that is required by the State of Michigan.  You will need to contact A-1 Driver Testing directly for more information about the driver courses they offer and their class schedules.
What type of driver ed do I need before Michigan will give me a driver's license?
Each state has its own requirements concerning drivers education, although you should know that most states now require all new, young drivers to sign up to take a safe driving classroom or online course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.  A-1 Driver Testing may be able to help you fulfill the driver training requirement in Michigan.  Please contact either A-1 Driver Testing or the Michigan DMV for more information.
Am I obligated to take a Marquette Michigan driver training course?
All drivers in Michigan are required to take a driver training course.  You should contact A-1 Driver Testing to learn more about the courses they offer.
Can I register for a Michigan-approved driver training course even if I don't have my Michigan learners permit yet?
Most likely, no.  Most states have laws that mandate a pre-licensed driver to have obtained a Michigan learners permit before registering in a Michigan driver training course.  It would be best for you to contact a driving school such as A-1 Driver Testing and ask for more information.
