Ross Driving School FAQ’s
Ross Driving School's address and phone number is listed on your webpage. How can I know for sure if it is a licensed behind the wheel training school in Michigan?
Even though we provide a list of driver training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is certified by the Michigan DMV to offer driver training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact Ross Driving School directly or check with the Michigan DMV to find out for sure if Ross Driving School is a licensed school.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my behind-the-wheel training instead of a professional driving school instructor like the ones they have at Ross Driving School?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the Michigan DMV or a licensed driver training school like Ross Driving School to find out if Michigan allows behind-the-wheel training with a parent.
What if I don't know how to drive a vehicle with a stick-shift? Does Ross Driving School have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll let me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a manual-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a manual or an automatic, you probably should call Ross Driving School to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your enrolling in their driver training course.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads all around. Will Ross Driving School teach me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain community, chances are that a local driving school like Ross Driving School will include driving lessons specifically tailored to that terrain.
I'm turning 14 in a few days. Can I get a learner's permit to drive in Michigan after my 14th birthday?
Most likely, no.  Most states (though not all) have laws which require that you be at least 15 or 15 1/2 before to be eligible to apply for an instruction permit.  Nevertheless, you may wish to contact the Michigan DMV office or a Michigan-certified driving school such as Ross Driving School to find out for certain what the minimum driving age is in your local area.
I live in Riverview Michigan. Does the law say I have to successfully complete both a drivers education classroom or online course and a driver training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do require that new, teen-aged drivers take both a driver training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .
I have to register for a safe driving class in Riverview Michigan before Michigan will give me my driver's license. Does Ross Driving School offer this type of course?
Ross Driving School does offer the driver training course in Riverview Michigan that is required by the State of Michigan.  You will need to contact Ross Driving School directly for more information about the driver courses they offer and their class schedules.
What do I need to do to get a Michigan drivers license in Riverview Michigan?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course.  Ross Driving School may be able to help you meet the driver training portion in Michigan.  Please contact Ross Driving School for more information.

Is it necessary for me to sign up for a driver training course in order to get my first Michigan driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in Michigan must complete a state-approved driver training course.
Do I need to have my instruction permit before I register for a driver training course like the one that Ross Driving School offers?
You will need to contact Ross Driving School or the Michigan DMV to find out if you are allowed to sign up with a driving school like Ross Driving School before receiving your Michigan learner's permit.
